SEN reported today that Casboult has agreed to a one year deal. Happy with that though.

Murphy should have been asked to retire.

Not really.

As a long time supporter of MM give him his ride around the oval and show him the door.

Great servant of the club but there is a time for everyone.

Your list Crusader. He got coaches votes last week....about time too.

Nowhere near my top 5 players. Did he play well last night? Is he a consistent performer? Has upside for a 33yo?

The point here is that Murph agreed to a 2 year contract which expires end of 2021. He is already in contract.
Why can't Nick Austin wait till end of NEXT year when Murphy is 34yo before asking him to play another year when he is 35yo?

I suggest Murphy will not be one of the top 5 players next year, let alone 2022. I don't expect him to be automatically selected week in week out next year.

I was going to start a list to see when Murph's name comes up....realised there's a lot of names to type, and most would agree.

Does anyone else think Murphy is one of our Top 5 players this year?

FFS he was signed as late as possible before the impact of COVID was known, with Curnow already injured, McKay coming back from injury and McGovern hardly robust. He's been pretty ordinary and probably (hopefully) won't play another game for Carlton. The hate he's getting seems OTT to me.
