Atrocious weather here today. Blowing an absolute gail with heavy rain to come.

Going to be a slog for the boys today.

At least it lessens the blow of having Harry and Gov out

What peculiar comment. Would have thought wet weather would suit a big bullocking contested ball beast

Ditto

Its going to be a contested combat.
We need Cripps to flex his muscles

I love the inclusions.

Inevitable.

Pity the weather is not condusive for TDK high marks, but we will get to see his spring against Nic Nat at times.

Weather update: Still utter shit. Been pissing down non stop for around a couple of hours. Won’t be subsiding.

And I’m the runner for my sons U18 side.

Pray for me. And the Blues of course.

Interesting Murphy has not been selected in the first 18.

Today all smalls should flourish if they work hard.

Going to need to lay a lot of tackles today. Everyone.

We win the tackle count and it will go a long way to help us win this game.

A good day for Murphy to show us he's still got plenty to offer.

Interested to see what the positional changes are. Three forwards have gone out and one comes in (TDK). Fisher can play at half forward but I hope to see him up the ground. Cottrell has been playing half back and wing in the 2s. Does he play back and allow SPS to play up the ground? Also possible that Kennedy is sent forward to provide a target? A lot of options. We will find out.

I rate these guys as close to the best in the competition, especially on their home deck. We will need to make this a low scoring grind and take our opportunities to win. Best of luck to Cottrell on debut and TDK back after 2 years absence. Go blues

Mmmm.. What's the emoji for eyes popped out and head spinning....

Our midfield strength is really going to be tested.... Can't imagine how bad that would be WITHOUT Cripps

Go Blues

Have they announced the starting 18?
The paper side is rarely the starting team.
As for the weather, the radar shows the worst may have gone.

Incredible situation and challenge going to Perth with our first 4 tall forwards out injured.
Harsh injury toll on the team, once again.

Charlie Curnow
Harry McKay
Jack Silvagni
Mitch McGovern

Today we have in their place:

Levi Casboult
Tom DeKoning

the other has to be Kennedy.

Today's conditions are going to suit a shorter forward line.
But need the harder bodies, unless we can get it open and the ball bounces our way.

These guys MUST produce goals and forward pressure for 4 quarters.

Betts
Martin
Fisher
Gibbons

Its not muddy but wet and slippery.
It will take its toll.

Have to win it in the midfield.
Casboult and pittonet should wax today
Big forwards negated by the wet.

Cripps
Ed Curnow
Walsh

these conditions will suit our mids too, and and they have to go 4 quarters
Midfield rotations will be important. Support will rely on:

Setterfield
Kennedy
Newnes
Murphy
Fisher
Martin
Gibbons

We can win this.
That's easy to say whilst ignoring the big names of the west.

4 quarter effort. That's what they need to do, then the rest we rely on the Footy Gods. Umpires wont help, having said that maybe ...

Blues by 4 points. Weagles going in too tall. Hopefully...and the footy gods

Go Blues

Kennedy might be our match winner
He loves it in the wet, which has been every 2nd weekend for past 6 weeks
