Is Levi right? He's looked off it the last two weeks - maybe playing through something?

With all these games coming up in a compressed period it would be good to give him a week freshen up (if the other big blokes are fit)

We don't have a compressed schedule. Unless they pull forward the two Perth games in round 11 by one day, our game against Freo will be the only time we play an opponent coming off an irregular break.

Why anyone would contemplate dropping him baffles me.

Because this is an internet chat room and people's brains gradually leak out the more they are on it.

Moore was seriously horrible. It wasn’t that he didn’t take a mark or kick a goal but his pressure and application was just plain u10’s standard. What would it highlight to everyone, if we kept him in this week? If we need to bring a quarter fit DeKoning in, I would rather that, as you know he’ll bring attitude.

The bye is barely a bye... it's an 8 day break

Surely the fact that Casboult didn't go into the ruck yesterday suggests he's carrying an injury.

it's all relative. compared to much of the league we've been handed a very kind schedule.

I know that this is risky after all the shellackings that the Hawks have given us over the last 10 years, but there is a whiff of Carlton circa 2001 about them at the moment. Delusional president, ageing list, Clarko can fix anything. The A graders covered up everything - take them away, or make them older, and most of the B graders dont become A graders, or even stay B graders - they slip lower. Its just amazing how long the football media has been fooled by them. I know they were competitive last year, but people forget how free agency and the introduction of the expansion teams have allowed them to stay higher for longer. When that music stopped, it reminds me of that quote from Hemingway: 'How did you go bankrupt? Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.'

Bolton’s intel is going to be a factor. I’m interested to see how our boys handle this week.
I also expect Hawthorn to try and rough us up a bit from the first bounce.

I just wonder if there's room for Newman and Willo in the same team... presumably at the end of the year Simmo moves on and there will be.

We need to find a lock down small BP. We know Plowman or Willo can do the job on medium forwards but have some doubts on the smallish ground player forwards.

Plowman strength is playing on the smaller forwards

Tend to agree. Just not 100% sold he can handle all types of quick ground ball smalls.

Mate, if he knew anything of use, he’d still have the job.

As I suspected he would, he's turned into a whinging little prick now that they aren't playing well. Actually, I reckon he was always a whinging little prick, just he hasn't had much to whinge about until now.

Question - does Weitering have a match up this week? Why not throw him up forward.

Drop Moore and let Casbault take ruck relief. I think he likes that.

I know Weitering is in rare form but it could be an option.

Perhaps we could send Jones forward.

I am sure I read somewhere that Jones started his career as a fwd, maybe you’re onto something.....

Carlton should call on the AFL to audit Hawthorn before this game. It's only fair

Hawthorn great Don Scott has claimed his club systematically cheated the salary cap during its golden run in the late 1980s and early 1990s using a secret bank account in Tasmania.
