and ...unclench.
On the bright side we won without any tall forwards except what looks like an injured casbolt. Can only improve...

Ugly win is a win.

Umpiring was terrible both ways.

Thought Plow , Cunningham, Jones, Walsh, Setters were great. Newnes made a couple of mistakes but did some good things. Kennedy, Simmo, Ed and Pittonet solid.

Levi, Eddie,McGov ordinary.

Moore was less...

The umpiring was putrid and completely one sided.

Felt like we should have won by more and the same time, feel like we got out of jail.

We make it unnecessarily hard for ourselves.

I thought it was a terrific win with so many key players out and players not performing in the wet.

Can only boost morale and confidence as they won it as a team knowing some of their teammates were down. That's a key aspect of team sports... North probably played at their best.

Pros:

Gutsy last quarter, after butchering opportunities in the 3rd. Found a way to win.
Midfield were good. Another encouraging performance from Kennedy and Setterfield.
Pittonet was excellent against Goldstein.
Weitering, Plowman and Jones. SPS was also pretty good.
Cuningham.
Newnes.

Cons:

I know we lost Harry and McGovern. But way too often were our forward entries marked by the opposition. We either didn't compete in the air. Or we had Martin spoiling Casboult in the air. Pretty wasteful and meant we wasted the opportunity of a comfortable win.
2nd quarter where the pressure fell away.
Umpiring.
Inaccuracy. Martin is too good a kick to be consistently missing those goals.

Yeah, he was fairly awful today. Prefer to play Kennedy or SOJ as one of our 'talls'.

I prefer a shit win like that to an honorable loss. It's much better for belief.

Most of the time we play garbage we get embarrassed miserably. At least this time we actually won.

That 10-9 under Teague now.

We would have lost that in previous years.

We did what we had to do in the end. To win when we have a 'down' week is a terrific sign.

I thought our best were Simpson, Kennedy, Murphy and Plowman.

Cripps battled hard, I thought the umpires had it in for him.

We move on, win next week and it's 4 out of the last 5.

Get Harry back in the team, rest some other players and push on.

Kennedy good. Used his hands in the air to his advantage. I'd pretty much written him off. Glad to be proven wrong.

Plowman also terrific. And Weitering continues his AA form.

Setters terrific early.

Cuningham clean hands in the wet critical. So often it is one clean touch in the wet that makes all the difference.

Martin fumbles early but in the end he had a lot of hard ball gets which says a lot I think.

Here is hoping Harry is OK because McGovern is said injured once again.
