A couple of real howlers against us tonight

It’s almost been a smorgans board for them :yikes:

Last 10 mins such a change to kick back and celebrate the win with no pressure

Very even across the board effort...no passengers. Harry stood up all night and kicked so much better, he really is quick for 202cm ! Gov gave the cream and is an elite kick. Gibbo and Eddie were great and Martin is such a classy player and superb mark for his size. Levi has raised the bar now and keeps delivering each week.

Backline very settled, always the basis for a good team. Bam Bam is moving so well now he’s fully fit and is like a new recruit. He and Setters stood up when Crippa got injured. Pitto just keeps giving 110% and covers the ground well.

Great to see us featuring in one of the games of the round next week

Win it from 7th/8th?

Martin, Betts and Pittonet all going beautifully and cost us a grand total of stuff all. Nice parting gift from SOS.

SOS didn’t want Eddie. Hatred of small forwards seemingly.

I think the most pleasing aspect aside from the result were little things throughout the game which suggested to me a lot of the younger guys are beginning to believe.

Kennedy and Setterfield played close to their best games for the club.

SPS looked very composed even when he made a mistake or two didn’t dent his confidence.

But things like backing up for each other, gang tackling, shepherds and one percenters, all very positive.

We have a lot of guys in career best of close to career best form.

Kennedy deserves a lot of praise for that one, id written him off but he’s obviously gone away been able to get fit enough to run out a full game, some of his centre clearance work was outstanding. Could still be the player we had hoped for when drafting him.

Loved the win, well done boys

Enjoyed watching us hit up leading players - SPS needs to play more midfield minutes, his deft little kick to a leading forward tonight was delightful to watch

We're in the 8!

Yes please...could become the midfield architect kicking it lace out to the fwds

Blueman also mentioned about a guy called Power kicking a wining goal (from what I recall). We don't have a player by that name but Luke Power joined this season as Head of Development. It's getting Spooky !!!!

And if we don't?

If port are simply too good?

What then? Rage about how we're not consistent and the board has to go?

Pittonet is such a quality pickup.

Competes and competes but his tap work in the first half was great.

Stoppages looked really solid tonight and that's without Cripps having much impact.

That was fun to watch and the absolute gutbusting effort from every player was even better.

We've said it before but that endeavour has to be the base now. Just has to be.

No more 25 minute lapses like Melbourne and St Kilda games. Geelong last quarter I can understand, they really threw everything at us but those shit first quarters have to be a thing of the past.

Just need England to lose now and weekend perfect

Did he say anything about the coach breaking his foot?

Hours later and I’m still finding it hard to believe how great we played.

They came at us hard in the 2nd and 3rd quarters and with the arm chair ride they were getting from the umps, I was still very nervous going in to the last.

To withstand their early attacks, back ourselves and pull away was so enjoyable.

A very mature performance playing a highly attractive and tough brand of footy. Long may it continue.

The most pleasing aspect I think is how the team contributed evenly. There was no outstanding player that needs to be stopped. Dare I say it..almost Richmond like...someone steps up when required.
Port might put work into Doc or Cripps but they know we have others who will perform.
Do they ignore Doc and Cripps?

Was at the game.

Good barracking from Blues supporters!

Lots of whining re umpires from Bulldogs supporters.

Ground looked to be in immaculate condition, and was nice for the forecast rain to stay away.

Great game, Blues!

Pros:

How good was that? Fast start. Maintained a comfortable lead all game. And then won big at the end.
3-3 and a percentage over 100.
Loved the crowd support. Could well give us some advantage in our time at the hub.
Loved our tackling and pressure. Especially early.
Won well without big contributions from Cripps, Docherty or Murphy.
Pittonet, Curnow, Martin, Gibbons, Harry, Eddie and SPS were terrific. I really love what Pittonet is giving us. Also, how much a difference does it make when Harry nails his set shots? And why, O why, did we ever let Eddie go?
After a stinker last week, our tall forwards were terrific.
6 goals out of our small forwards. It's been a long time since that's happened.
After being outcoached last week, thought Teague and his team did an excellent job. Even just small things like, keeping Murph out of the square early, and then inserting him late in the game, once the big hard bodies have slowed down.
Delighted with Kennedy's game in midfield. If he can contribute, I love the extra big body in midfield, plus his versatility up forward.
Another very encouraging midfield performance from Setterfield.
Walsh is finding the ball again, after a slow start to the season.
Another strong performance from Jones and Weiters.
Despite his knockers, Newnes continues to be a solid contributor. After what I saw in the preseason games, I've been delighted with what he's given.
Even though he was relatively quiet, thought Cripps was a big part of our strong start.

Cons:

Not a lot.
Cripps and Murphy look sore.
Umpiring.

That was very enjoyable.

The best part for me was the hunger and desperation in the last quarter, you could see the players enjoying themselves and more importantly they all wanted to be part of it.

Just like a player having a break out game this could really start our rise.

We are finally a good side. I am very confident and very happy so don’t take this as a negative but just a strange observation. Tonight was an almost identical score to April 2019 Round 5 which was a 101 - 57 win over the doggies. It didn’t start our rise then but I have so much belief in this group now compared to a year ago.
