They're not cricketers or FIFO workers - they didn't sign up for 5 week absences from home. Do you think Houli is in the wrong for staying back?

Guess it depends on their contracts. As an AFL player there must surely be clauses about travel and that you are obliged to go except in cases like a family emergency or childbirth. But maybe there are also stipulated limits on travel duration. I would think that a player who decides to opt out of a 5-week hub visit because they want to be with their family would be required to take leave without pay.

Yet another winnable game. Thyey are 4 points and % in front of us. If we win we make up th points and some of the %.
That should be enough reason.
As usual it depends on the start. We lost to Melb by one lousy point after coming from behind. We beat Richmond for three quarters and lost the game.
We lost to StK by less than the margin they jumped us by.

So what?

So if he had played 4 quarters in every game we would have beaten Melbourne and had a far better percentage than we now have even if we still lost to Richmond and StK. We could be somewhere between 3rd and say 6th.

What more incentive do the boys need to come out fast and hard and play the entire game? They could easily be playing finals. Isn't that what they want?

English is emerging. He was one of their batter players in the game we lost to them last year. Bont is Bont. Bruce will have it cut out to repeat last week.

Teague has to start knowing every team will tag Cripps and Doc. Plan for it NOW, not at three quarter time next week. Put Cripps int he forward fifty and Jack Silvagni in the middle to start the game. Give Willo the job of sweeping and put Doc on the wing.

Tell McKay to stay deep and run at the footy and tell Gov and Levi to stay out of each other's way.

Tell SPS, Setterfiield and Cunningham thy have to get 25 possessions each.

Tell them something but tell them to play 4 quarters.

Hayden Crozier's defence at the tribunal is that there are exceptional and compelling cirumstances given it is a shortened season. WTF.

I would love to be going, I was supposed to go to the original Gold Coast game last weekend.
Considering I can't even leave suburban Melbourne I will be watching from home, just like the rest of us Melbournians.
Anyone who is going can give a huge cheer for me.

Turn up with intensity and aggression for 4 quarters, we’re every chance to win it. If we don’t turn up for 4 quarters, we can pretty much forget about getting the result.

Send Ed to Macrae at the first bounce. He contributes more with a defined role. Also might help to create some level of aggression if all 22 players know from now who we’ll be targeting on Sunday.

If anyone goes to Cripps and Doc, the other 20 blokes need to make that player’s life hell for the game. Bump into him. Put a bit extra into the tackles. Don’t let their taggers have it easy like last week.

Doggies were woeful the first two rounds then turned up rd 3 with a score to settle with GWS. Last 2 games they have been very good against two pretty average sides.

I think we are average for about 1/2 a game.
I think this could go the same way as last week

Thankfully the Dogs are without Naughton, Dunkley and now Crozier as well. Furthermore we don't have to play them at Marvel which is a big bonus. Bring the right attitude and intensity and we are a good chance.

Rain is forecast so maybe one less tall?
Kennedy for McKay and Fisher for Philp might make sense.

Potentially Smith as well which is a big out. He's left Walsh in his wake this year.

Interesting.... Still to be confirmed, I know.

I suspect Kennedy for Harry (a tall) and Fish, probably for Philp, unless there are injuries/tests we don't know about...

Perhaps Polson as a defensive forward on Daniels ... Hope they have the extra telescopic lenses on the cameras ...

Sorry, I'm being 'heightist'....

Go Blues
