I believed we'd come out after half time and beat them. Every time we seemed to gain some momentum the umpires would step in. Not that this is anything new to Carlton supporters ...

Umpires aside I think the major reason we lost tonight was our inaccuracy in front of goal.

Just write that off completely.

Martin absolute class.

Jones had a good last quarter to redeem himself somewhat. Plowman a shocker.

Tall forwards pathetic. Midfield too. Pittonet a reality check.

Just forget about this and move on.

Maybe the saints are better than we're giving them credit for?

Was there a holding the ball against stkilda tonight?
Love the new interpretation

There was no new interpretation tonight. Its always been Carlton bloke grabs the footy, gets tackled holding the ball.
Opposition player gets the footy, gets tackled DROPS the ball and ball up.

Thought they just had a bit more polish and depth. Beaten by a team that out played us, rather than us losing it.
A couple of missed goals, some umpiring which didn’t help us and a Jones turnover in our D50 that halted our momentum. All those factor into the loss, but Doch and Cripps getting shutdown in the first half, Marshall dominating in the ruck and some smart forward craft from the saints were things they did right. Credit to them.

Why does Jack Newnes exist?
Surely Marc with a C has to be dropped?
Who played on Gresham ? Always chops us, hardly sighted tonight.

Our 3 talls had about 12 kicks between them

McKay ...... probably the worst of the 3. What a waste of 200cm

Gee we were crap tonight.

Pisses me off that we decide to be a committed football side only when we feel like it. Winning in Geelong showed we can play. I want that committment week in, week out, not at our choosing. Our issue is above the shoulders, essentially mentally attitude. Bring that consistently and the rest looks after itself.

Too many passengers

If not for the shocking turnovers we could have had an undeserved victory

Aints did their homework and were we prepared. They came in switched on and executed their plan perfectly. We came in not switched on and seemingly with no real game plan.
Our tall forwards gave us nothing. Our mids were incredibly poor too. Very worrying the number of times the opposition get 30+ points in front

Yes Martin our only good player but he and McKay were undisciplined early and it cost us just when we were trying to hang in the contest. Immature as someone else said earlier.

Cripps' slow starts are becoming a worrying trend. If we don't recruit a proven gun mid nothing will change. Yes last week some others stood up but tonight they went missing.

It’s an easy 4 points for Carlton ex-coaches - they know who our softc0cks are.

Absolutely slaughtered in the ruck.

St Kilda’s recruitment much better than ours.

My own club is beginning to disgust me.

Very, very, very disappointing night. No use giving my thoughts, as they won’t be flattering other than, some highly paid players in our 22, need to have a good hard look at themselves.

I don't know that we can play Gov, Cas and Harry in the same team. Not much forward pressure there when the ball hits the ground.

Murphy gives away fifty (the first one) and just trots back up the ground. The one knock I've always had on him is he never runs hard both ways.

How about Martin running back with the flight of the ball in the last quarter? That's commitment.

Only one winner on the night Martin so aren’t going to win many and only multiple goal scorer setters so that says it all

Bottom 4 finish likely because this team picks and chooses when it wants to play
Again dominated third quarter like last week but impotent up forward
Horrible H McGovern and Casboult diabolical

Philip tried hard and was better otherwise nothing tonight filled me with much hope

Very slow compared to Aints very weak tackling and disposal inefficient and poor
