DeKonning needs games and he's athletic, but I reckon JSOS Harry Casboult is plenty of marking power, then there's a leaner Gov who like Andrew Walker, can jump and clunk them, and kick straight.

Gawn vs Pittonet because Pitto can give Gawn a workover and put him off his game.
He's their start button.

Then there's the contested ball after that: Cripps vs Petracca and Viney.
You'd think Gibbo would be good for that role and might just make up for his last game.
Murphs doesn't like it in the furnace but we've always got Curnow who loves the heat of the contest: that's his gig.

I think it all comes down to hope we start - give them 4 odd goals before we begin will be just another suicide - its the one area Teague seems to be struggling with - no good running out half-switched on. If we can go from the very first blow of the whistle then I expect us to win by about 3 goals. If not it will be another where we lose by the margin we gave away at the beginning.

It has been a totally crap year lets hope our Blue Boys can bring us some joy to offset it

Not just a Teague thing - I think the side has suffered this for quite some time now - Very rarely do we get off to a good start - I think the last time we did is when we were 5 goals to nil against Richmond then faded away .

It will be really interesting how team come out of this break it may suit some and not others - It has been good for us on the injury front with Betts and Harry being available

He's the future for sure but Gawn is a monster. Better a bigger bodied ruck.

Who was the last genuine ruckman we had who wasn't injury plagued ..?

Probably Harry.
Matty Allan early in his career was ok. Then he became the best ruckman in the comp and as luck would have it, started to develop stress fractures.
Ports may have been ok too, but we then traded him cos we had Matty Allan.
That was followed by a string of dud ruckmen till we got Kreuz and Sauce. We traded and Sauce and then Kreuz started to have injury issues and then his body couldn't do what he and we hoped.

We have had a pretty long recent history of recruiting dud ruck men from other clubs - let’s hope Pittonet breaks the mould.

He's not a star, but like Kreuzer he is hard at it.

He is much better than that ruKkman from Saints? Port? Ackland?

We exchange Philips for Pittonet over the trade period.
He looks like an upgrade, but then again Philps looks like the Messiah at *

At one point I thought Matty Allan was brownlow material. He could play!
