Assuming this game proceeds, good luck Blueboys.

I expect a similar result to tonight.

In: De Koning, Williamson, Philp
Out: Kreuzer, Newman, Dow

I think De Koning is a good match up against English.

That midfield needs to get better - I want Stocker in the guts tbh. Just a much smarter footballer than Dow albeit hasnt got the zip.

I’d play Stocker as a small defender, reminds me of Andrew McKay with a better kick.

I’d love for them to play TDK but you know it’ll be Pittonet

OUT: Kreuzer
IN: De Konning

I just reckon that you give the same team one more week. If Setterfield, Gibbons & Dow have no impact this week, then you'd drop them. (Although the lack of VFL and the mystery surrounding when / we're gonna play next makes this harder.)

Interesting having no VFL.....may make regular rotation of those fringe players more important/likely

Are the AFL rescheduling this to get the games through quicker?

If Owies is training well I'd bring him in to help make our forward 50 more unpredictable. Martin Cuningham Owies could cause the opposition problems.

I'd play Gibbons purely as a mid and give Dow full midfield minutes in the 2's squad to improve his game.

Pittonet for Kreuzer.

Willo and LOB for Nooman and Fish if they're injured.

I think I read somewhere that they wont do that for the first two rounds but will be looking to do so thereafter.

The suspension of the VFL competition changes the game for depth players.

I suspect the Match Committee will give, and therefore gift out of form players blocks of games as opposed to ommiting.
They can't pick players without seeing exposed form in the VFL. They will have to at some stage.

Point is If a player id dropped to fix up parts of his games he wont get the opportunity to do so.

Players we have invested, say pick 4 for Dow should have a strong development focus on him by the club'
We've given him a few years exposure in the seniors, and now we need to build his confidence and game.

I am really disappointed in Dow, having watched the game 3 times now...and Setters, and Gibbs and Newman.

Kreuzer should be replaced by Pittenet. Pitt is aggressive on the groundball amd jumps into rucks: I should say English

I wanted Williamson over Newman from the outset...if Newman's elbow needs a rest :sly:

IMO OBrien would be better running up and down the ground than Gibbons. Neither are bonafide mids who could help out Crippa. So Cripps still needs someone bog bodied to help him other than Kemp.

Adding those 2 deadly long kicks will be a huge improvement in our DE%.

I would love to throw Philp in the forward line for defensive speed with his express pace. Great tackler. Tenacious.
Can snag a goal too.

I see it the other way in that we can't afford to keep non-performing players in the side. If a fringe player has a poor match then we need to get another player in the side straight away in so they will have an opportunity to gain some match fitness/experience.
For example if we keep Dow in the side and he doesn't improve, then inevitably after a few weeks he will have to be dropped and the player to replace him won't have the necessary match fitness.
Need to keep rotating fringe players who don't perform.

The AFL could allow extra on the bench without increasing the rotations. That way a couple more players could get a run. No biggie.

Fish had 79% minutes on the ground and made 385 metres and 19 disposals.
Gibbo Dow Setters all had more time on field yet Fish had more disposals than those 3 combined.

Setters' form since Marsh series has been questionable for me.
I know he's only 21yo, and I'm a fan, but he's out of form.

I'm with you Humpers.

It will be a merry go round, but hey its a wake up call and it does create a sense of urgency and desperation to perform.
Might be good for the team's performance to have heaps of pressure on the bottom 6 performers every week.

I'm not sure of the Dogs getting a dusting up is good or bad for us.
