The kids Cripps referred to this week, in the 21-23yo bracket, must show improvement on their 2019 form, let alone their recent outing . Must.

Willo showed something in the game against the Pies, and not too bad last week, and Fish did really well with that freak walsh last week.

He's not questioning Charlie and Harry who are out injured, nor Weitering who is a beast, he's referring to the smaller types Dow, Fish, Setters, Cunners, Willo, SPS, LOB and Kennedy, and the versatile Jack who is more important with Harry and Charlie missing.

These guys have been brought in with high picks to lead Carlton for the next 5 or so years.

They all need to show they are desperate for a spot in round 1, against a very strong Brisbane outfit.

Despite being a practise game, this is the last hit out before round 1, and it is a Big Game of footy in front of a very keen and hungry Home crowd.

No injuries is a win in these Mickey Mouse games for me.

So Gibbons is OK, and Polson showed enough, Setterfied OK too...
Hope this is a high pressure game..

Obviously these guys have to ply their trade and earn a spot after showing form in the VFL.
Pity, I had high hopes for Cunners and Willo.

Looks like the MC have broken the glass to try and groom Polson for Simmo's role incase Newman doesn't improve his one on one defensive work? Dunno?

Good to see that TDK has been kept in to ply his trade against seasoned bodies and keep him in tune with what is required of him to expedite his claim on No 1 ruck position.

So the CFC website says:

"Due to Marsh Community Series regulations, the game will be played behind closed doors and not open to the public."

That's here: https://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/57296 ... rsh-2-team

But tickets are available to purchase at ticketek:

https://www.ticketmaster.com.au/search? ... gn=1383225

So anyone know what's the deal... ?

Interesting to see how Newnes goes today, didn't show much against Collingwood or Fremantle last week.

Pity we couldn't watch the Northern Blues, would like to know how Stocker, Cunningham, Kennedy and Williamson went. Our midfield is our weakness and we need in form players to press for senior spots.

Need some context. They are practice matches.

I may have a little tear or two seeing Doc out there.

A tad more polish and a little bit friendly umpires and we would be 6 goals up.
A lot of hard work gets unrewarded do to the lack of finishing ability.

But it has been good so far
