Still not feeling the love here.
Zac Fisher worries me big time and getting concerned over Cunningham and Dow.
Whoever 32 and 47 are forget them.
Polson is clueless.
Defence stands up well but midfielders and forwards are Shiite.
Kennedy is clever and quick with his hands but doesn't get it enough.
Lang is gone.

What a piss weak effort this game had been. Turned it off. The Dockers are a bottom 5 team and they've embarrassed us. It's preseason and there are plenty due back still but come on... this was a pathetic effort

Fisher’s been one of the only positives IMO.
32 is Newnes. He’ll play fairly regularly this year, so try and get used to seeing him out there.

Kennedy offers so very little.

Zero structure fwd of the ball, been missing for most part of the last decade.

Skills are deplorable.

Decision making is deplorable.

Awareness deplorable.

The fact we played like crap for 4qtrs doesn’t give much faith to the coaches box.

This is the same team that beat Collingwood in whatever trial game took place last week.
Either:
A) Collingwood were taking the piss last week. Or;
B) we shouldn’t read too much into pre-season / trial games.

Even when we bomb it we do so to stupid spots so if we did fluke a contested mark when struggle to convert.

JLT but some evidence of a game plan what really lift the spirits.

Biggest positive for me was that the game wasn’t played in Brisbane.

Horrible, just simply horrible. The next level down players from our few good players are so far off the mark. People talk of depth. Really? Next week will be interesting.

It’s a practice match and we’d want to not think this is something to be read into.

If you are reading into it, which I am to some degree I have big concerns over Fisher, Dow and Cuningham ever providing anymore than what they have.

JSOS, Kennedy, Newnes and Lang all terrible. Polson no good, but we knew that.

We think we can jump up the ladder but forget 17 other sides all have players who improve as well.

We won’t win many if any games with a forward line like we had today, with no Charlie, Eddie, McGovern or McKay.

Highlights were Jack Martin looking very good, Walsh doing his thing, Doch getting through ok and defence generally standing up ok.

Seriously underwhelming performance though.

JSOS has lost complete confidence especially with his kicking.

Pino goes ok

As I said before the defense was ok the rest was rubbish.

If you can't kick a goal from 30 -40 meters in a meaningless game how are you going to go when points are on the line.

I know it is preseason but this was quite disappointing.

And Cecil if you think that tripe that Fisher is dishing up a hilight you have completely lowered your standards

Once upon a time Cripps, Murphy, Curnow and Gibbs were our best 4 midfielders... five years later our best 4 mids are Cripps, Murphy, Curnow and Walsh, plus 3 youngsters with genuine potential as full time mids... that’s it!

We’ve got no chance of winging the Marsh Cup now. No Norm-Smith for Casboult.

It’s early days but that was shit.
We have too many average players. How long have I been saying that. The results are testimony to my negativity
Poison dumb footballer
Cunningham great skills but goes missing lacks mongrel
Newnes Saints fans weren’t devastated when he left. That says it all
Setterfield and Kennedy were recruited as inside mids because of their size and their lack of pace
They simply don’t get enough of their own ball. Eventually the injury excuse will run dry
Dow is a dumb footballer
Silvangi always has a crack but isn’t quite good enough

There also seemed to be no game plan
Freo clearly had one

We will win a few games but from watching that crap we won’t improve much from last year
Interesting that Teague looks like he is already losing his hair
Welcome to 2020

We will need to kick more than 5 goals if we hope to win any games at all.
Drilling passes to the opposition sweeper so he gets 13 uncontested marks in a game is not a good approach to goal. That doesn't count the passes to other opposition backs unopposed in the F50.
Handballing to someone in a worse position to yourself is not the way to create run and carry.
Relying on one player to mark the footy from a long bomb almost every F50 entry is stupid but we have been doing it since Kernahan.
Kicking out to a player next to the behind post is so 1990s but we must have done it more than half the time.
Players not knowing they are not allowed to run past the opposition player from behind when he has a mark or free shows a lack of knowledge of the rules and a lack of discipline. Cost us 2 goals.
Pushing and shoving opposition players in front of goal and giving away stupid free kicks when the umps have shown they won't cop it shows alack of discipline. Cost us two or three goals.
Passing the ball by foot to a spot on the ground two metres in front of the leading player is something we have been doing for a long time. it's kid stuff and unforgivable.
Missing shots for goal from 15 out DIF is mind boggling but we managed it twice and they managed it once.

People blaming the venue seem to miss the point the opposition team, which played a clean, short possession game for most of the night didn't have as many problems handling or passing the footy.

Very disappointing, even though it was a pre-season game against a team that finished just above us on the ladder last year. Next week we face a top 4 team at PP. I hope we show something.

I thought Casboult, Jones, Weitering, Fisher and Martin showed something. Maybe Newman. The rest were missing.

Blaming the ground
What a joke
Beautiful day over here
Slight breeze off the ocean
It’s a bloody good ground
Unlike those grounds from yesteryear
