I missed the first quarter (7th?). The boys looked very slick. Collingwood on the other hand are boring to watch. They chip it around, maintain possession and generally try to bore the opposition to death.
I suspect Lukas Webb may have done a hammy. Apart from that, I didn't notice any injuries.

Our midfield early consisted of the usual. Cripps, Murphy, Ed and Walsh coming in and out. Pittonet tried hard but TDK was the better tall. Grundy beat him in the ruck but the kid is brilliant when the ball hits the deck.
In the final term, our midfield was TDK, Dow, Cuningham and O'Brien against Grundy, Treloar, Adams and Wills with Sidebottom and Pendles lending support. The boys acquitted themselves well.

Lots of exciting passages of play and they're starting to stick their tackles as well. Not a good sign for Cunners and Dow that they were in the "VFL" squad later in the game. They even had Fraser doing the coaching. I don't like to be critical of players but I'll be [REDACTED] if I can understand the obsession with Polson. He had plenty of game time and showed very little again. His left foot kicks are below AFL standard. Obviously he has photos of someone with a goat.

No McGovern, McKay, SPS, Marchbank, Macreadie, Fisher, Kruezer, or Martin.

Jsos played forward, presented well.
Dow played the last few quarters, with lots of younger players around him he looked ok.
O'Brien got the first crack in the midfield when we started to rest a few
Kennedy played forward
TDK looks raw but you can see his athleticism and potential, played 2nd of all the game
Stocker played the last few quarters only, played deep forward
Jones very good
Docherty fantastic to see him out there, he and Williamson in the first 3 qtrs were excellent
Lang, lot of ground time, very quiet
Walsh as expected, played forward for a bit and looked dangerous
Betts - exciting and got the crowd going
Plowman Ok
Weitering - came off after 2nd qtr I think it was, received treatment on the bench for what seemed a lower leg injury and then ran to the rooms - did not look serious.
Newman good
Williamson's kicking was excellent, cuts the angles and opens up play with his disposal, looked very good.
Cunningham played the second part of the game, was our best in the last few qtrs when we played all youngsters including a few non listed players
Polson played as a small back, has a crack and not afraid to put his small frame on the line
Newnes you can see that he has played a lot of footy, runs well and links up well but I thought his disposal was average
Ramsay played the last few qtrs, nice kick
Philp - the pick of the youngsters, linked up well at times and covers the ground well, was cooked by the end, impressive
Ed - on and off
Honey looked ok, played the last few
Ben Silvagni played the last few qtrs down back
Gibbons very lively, played forward and some stints in the midfield
Casboult as usual presented well and kicked a few goals
Setterfied started quietly but had a good 2nd, 3rd and 4th qtr
Owies, Finbar, Goddard, Cottrell all played the last few qtrs as did some unlisted players

Overall Doc and Willo were great early.
Cunningham good when we played the kids
Pittonet, lumbering type of ruckman, not as athletic or good mark as Phillips

I didn't see any... But I was only there for the last 4/5 quarters?
Anyway,
Honey did look good as did Ramsay (although left footers in space always seem to look good).
Liam looks good... Still does the 'heart in mouth' stuff... But glad he backs himself.
Doc and Simmo playing together in the back line.... (drool)... There will be some plays where the ball is delivered in the blink of an eye.
Didn't see Kruezer, I expect he didn't play...
BTW saw Eddie, Murphy etc go for a jog when I got there, they didn't look like they had raised a sweat. Caz looked more like he had played a couple of quarters...

Overall though, I thought we fumbled more than they did... Just a feeling.
If it was a game for points, we wouldn't have fared so we'll methinks... AND ca someone get on Sidebottom!!!

Go Blues

The longer the game went, the better TDK went. He looked much better than Pittonet.

Yes... Being generous (to Pittonet) there.
TDK is getting bumped (unsurprisingly)... With a bit more strength, he will be gold.
I forgot...
Cunningham was very good. Scored a ripper goal... Not on the website stat's but I'm sure it's that last kick in the highlight video (fed to him by TDK)
And agree with BV... I was hopeful for Polson... at least to see that YouTube video, but alas I don't think that's going to happen.
Also... I have no idea why Stocker was playing as a deep (lone) forward..? part of the 'game structure' or whatever it was?

BTW... Not sure who 47, 48 and 50 were....
47 looked like one of those guys you would not want to bump into in a laneway on a dark night... Was playing in defence...
Any ideas?

From what I've read I'm happy because of the following:

- Willo and Doc both back and moving well
- Philp showed a lot.
- Ditto TDK
- Most importantly no injuries (assuming Weiters is OK)

Nothing.

Crickets.

No game watchers are texting....

Would you like to make it an 8 quarter game? The match doesn't start for another 20 minutes.

 Good call camelboy.

I thought it was a 3pm start, so I cracked into a stubby at 2.45.

Then Big Gartos texted a photo of his spot in the stand on the wing waiting for the 4pm start and I started drooling.

Princes Park is beautiful.

So much to be happy about.
So much talent.

Obviously there's a dozen first picked, but its going to be hard to fit all 30 options into 22.

Levi is bigger and stronger than Harry (and 6 years older)...Harry is better below the knees and far more agile.

Levi is going to hurt a lot of opposition players, and he's in from round 1 with Charlie missing.

What is going to happen when Harry Charlie Gov and Levi are all available in the 2nd half od 2020?

If Gov keeps off the weight ne may be the mobile HF Clape was in 1995.

I'm in Blue Heaven.

Thanks for the reports and pics Big Gartos...you too Blue champion
