Looking at going to this game with my 9 year old son.

If anyone has any experience / advice in relation to games in Adelaide it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure of the best way to get tickets, only requirement is that we are with Carlton supporters.

Ferals of the first order.
If you can't get with a group of us, I recommend you don't go.

Generally no worse than any other supporter group, in my opinion.

kk, last year I ordered tickets through the club and was in a largely Carlton zone. From memory they were about $70 each and were in the front half of bay 540-543-ish area (forward flank in the eastern stand), which I found to be a good place to watch from (I prefer being a couple levels up).
Given it’s a late afternoon game, if you’re in the eastern stand, pack a pair of sunglasses. You’d be looking towards the sun for a little while. Wouldn’t be anything bad though.

Last year the SA supporter group also had a pre-game function at a pub a few minutes walk from the ground. Family friendly event. Hopefully they do the same for both Adelaide games this year.

Thanks, will see how we go. Might just book flights and accom now and worry about the tickets later

Yup....

Sombre is right...!

sure I've mentioned it before...it was
2000 or 01...when I went to a game
over there...!

i was advised rather strongly by my crow
friend...not to wear colours...if only to
minimise the charnces of getting into a
fight...!

can't lie to ya kerna...he was right...!

sure that was 20 years ago...but hey...
maybe the new stadium's changed their
vibe...!

kindest regards tommi

Also...it was the game they won on or
just after the siren...lucky... because I'd
done enough yelling to give the jig up...!

but I could walk to the car without the
added vitriol...!

Funny story....

we were doing a Beatles weekend in
Adelaide around 08...one of those 10 Beatles bands over 3 days things....!

seriously....my worst nightmare...!

two good friends of mine came over to
catch a couple of sets...!

we all knew it had doomed written all
over it...!

so they decided to catch a game at the
Park too ...it was a PA home game...!

for starters they got there nicely pish...
then proceeded to get anything goes
pish...!

they were using another mates Football
Park membership...so they were in the
members...and being a Blue and Tiger...
they weren't going to support PA...!

well...half way through the 3rd quarter...
they were asked to leave...not so much
for the anti PA cheering...which I'm sure
was annoying...but for the brainwave
decision of said Tige mate...to expose
his arse in the general direction of the
members...!

with full parting of the cheeks...then ride
me baby slapping of the backside...!

it was a full "escort" out too...!

so we're getting ready for a midnight
start at the casino...and my mr Blues
mate rocks up...alone...!

where's Mr Tiges I ask...which brought
about an answer that we still laugh
about to today...!

Mr Blue..."Hainsey won't be attending...
an inevitable turn of events have put
paid to that"...!

good times...and I've got many many
great Mr Tiges stories from over the
40 years of friendship...!

if you ever see Creedence Clearwater
Survival around the traps...go up to the
John Fogarty guy and ask him to retell
you this story....funny man...!

kindest regards tommi

I would seriously advise not wearing any Carlton gear or have anything that indicates you are from Victoria.

Apparently we are are Civil War with South Australia, but they forgot to tell us...

(I lived there for 12 months...)

I've never been to a game in Adelaide.

Considering dressing up in full gear and attending after reading this thread.

Kinda agree with this.... There is an element of 'we hate Victorians' that we are completely oblivious to.
I had two tyres slashed when I was there.. When I took them to the repairer I naively said that I did not realise I was parked in a dodgy area... He just said 'it's the Vic plates mate!', like I was stupid

Or maybe this should be in the 'boring stories' thread
Go Blues

Growing up we had two rules:

Rule #1: No Victorians.
Rule #2: Refer to rule #1.

Stephen O'Reilly palmed the ball superbly to him from the ruck, if memory serves

Well, you know, I supported Port in the SANFL, so we're not all bad.

I intend for my son and I to be wearing colours. Went to footy Park back in the day, was OK in a big group.

Surely they've moved on from the hatred stuff?

Maybe jacket over colours until inside venue

Jesus that's a bit grim. I just can't imagine it getting that bad. 4.30 kick off may help.

This is Xmas present to my son. Sydney is Easter weekend and I'm busy.

Gold Coast I'm in North QLD

Adelaide might be harder to get tickets?

WA to expensive /far for one night.

I went years ago & they weren't too bad. Admittedly it was that game where Kreuzer went fwd in the last qtr & we stormed home & won.
