There was a game I was at in the early 90s against the Saints out at Waverley where Dototich went bananas in the second half and kicked about half a dozen to bring us back from about 5 goals down at half time. Always stuck in my memory.

1992. I've still got 3AW's call on a cassette somewhere. Dorotich took 5 marks in the third qtr!
From memory Tommy Alvin's dad died that morning and he played.
Down by a heap at half time, I nearly got king hit when we hit the lead

Just on Tom Alvin & boring Carlton stories. After he played his 150th I think it was, at PP, my uni friends & I souveniered the remnants of the banner, which had been left near the players' race.

For the rest of the semester back at our residential college, my friends had a giant Tommy Alvin caricature in their room.

1965 at Victoria Park with the Blues about 6 goals down early in the 2nd qtr

Ronald Dale Barasssi as Captain Coach got the Blues off the floor to win by 20 points

Similar memory for me chubbyruss, Jezza’s first game as coach Round 7, 1978 at Victoria Park, where we beat the filth by 17 points.

Was standing down at the Yarra Falls end - and watched Rod Ashman kick 5 goals as a decoy Full Forward.

It was a game against North Melbourne in the mid 80's, can't remember round or year.
What was memorable about it was we kicked the last 4 or 5 goals of the game, after the 30 min mark, to pinch the game. Remember Gleeson kicked one of them.
I was maybe 10, took a transistor radio with me into the dunny so I wouldn't miss the end and was blown away. Didn't think it was even possible!

To this day I don't know what year or round it was.

Update: did some digging at the Blueseum
http://www.blueseum.org/Round+20%2C+1988
Turns out it was 1988 - RD20. 14 points down at 28 min mark. Last qtr went to 36 mins with Gleeson snapping the winner with seconds to go. For some reason I always remembered it as us kicking a goal in each of the last 4 mins of the game.

For some reason I still remember it was 34 degrees on the 87 GF..
Was quite possibly the 1st game I listened to on radio, can't remember anything prior to that.

I’ve been wondering about this. For me it’s a split between the 99 Prelim and the no Bradley no Silvagni Friday night game against Essendon*.

But there is also the 1997 Friday night game against WCE where Silvagni played forward and the 1995 GF.

Just because I went to school in Geelong at the time, the game at PP in 1990 against the Cats. Where we were down by 41 points at half time & won by 19.

And the resultant weird feeling of actually looking forward to school on the Monday

That was the 23rd of June 1990, the day my daughter was born, I missed that game for obvious reasons but was listening on the radio til half time, then turned off the radio and gave the game up as lost, then attended to wife’s final stages of labour, daughter was born at 4.55pm, first call to dad to give them the good news, he reciprocated with news of Carlton’s win.

Said we were going to call the baby “Stephanie” in honour of SOS’s performance that afternoon, until wife overruled, was able to get her to agree to Alexandra  .

We’ve still got a few cards wishing congratulating us on the birth of our daughter “Stephanie” cause dad sent out his news before we could call him back with the late change of name.

First Carlton GF I attended was in '68. We played Essendon*, they kicked 8 goals, we kicked 7 (Brian Kekovich 4) but we won !
Bit hazy now but I remember in the last quarter Brent Crosswell unloaded a long bomb, dead on target.
It bounced in the goal square.......at right angles and Daryl Gerlach cleared it.

In the last minute or 2 Essendon* went forward, Wes Lofts ''nudged'' Geoff Blethyn under the ball and took the mark.

Heart in mouth stuff as the ump blew the whistle. What was he gonna pay?

Wes was payed the mark !

THE END :gift: :thanks:
