I always wondered how you came up with your username.

Frank Lenaghan, a name that won't mean anything to the average garden variety Bluebagger,

But 2 of his sons played at Carlton......and Geelong. Denis and Mick.

Neither reached great heights, but I remember being amused that they pronounced their surname differently.

For Denis it was ''LEN A HANN''. for the apparently more down to earth Mick it was ''LENAGAN''.

Just trying to find a boring tale. Hope this fits the bill.

In about 2001 I had a quick chat with Lance Whitnall on the Crown Casino gaming floor while he consumed two hotdogs and a schooner of beer.

"Hello" does not qualify as a chat - r was Lance taking things slow that day?

Sitting behind the unmistakable Fraser Brown on a flight to Sydney years ago. Leaned over and said "excuse me ... you wouldn't be Fraser Brown?"

"Nope" was the reply.

At the Mad Monday at Naughtons in 1996, a young Aaron Hamill tried to provoke me into a fight. Adrian Whitehead smoothed things over and dragged Hamill away.

What did you do to provoke a nice boy like Aaron?

Allow me to indulge and bore you all with more anecdotes:

1. State of Origin 99. Took my son to the Brunswick pool for a swimming lesson. As I was drying him off in the change rooms and putting a Carlton beanie on him, Hamill came into changerooms. Had a chat to my son while half naked (Hamill, not my son). He even walked out with us and waved to my son as he got into his Commodore.

2. Geoff Southby was my hero growing up. I played FB in underage footy and wore the number 20. Even wrote to him in 1973. He replied with a team photo in the envelope. Fast forward about 35 years and my wife comes home from her school's parent teacher night and says to me, "I had a lovely chat with [insert first name] Southby's dad tonight. A lovely man...I think he used to play football" FMD!!!

I had a conversation a few weeks ago and he was expressing concerns about Doherty getting back. Doherty!
Seriously, WTF! And Gibson, instead of Gibbons!
Seriously, WTF!

Does he think Locky O'Bryan will make it?

From memory I'm pretty sure Geoff's Dad was named Dick.

Our neighbour where I grew up was good mates with my namesake Jezza.
The neighbour was a bluestone layer and Jezza would do some work with him for some extra cash.
One day they were doing a bluestone fence for another neighbour up the road and I got to meet and have a chat as about an 8yo.
A while later they had been on holidays in Qld together and I got a postcard from Jezza.

Correct...I couldn't remember the name of Geoff's daughter who my wife taught at secondary school. To find out her name, I'd have to get off my arse and engage in a conversation with my wife. I chose to go down the [insert first name] direction

My daughters basketball coach played for Carlton.

This is doubly boring because it's the second time I've mentioned it here.

My ex girlfriend in Tassie told me her new bloke said he had played for Carlton.
When I told her he didn't, she told me she had seen a photo of him in a Carlton jumper.
So I went to the archives and proved he hadn't.
She accused me of being pedantic.
I accused her of being a two-timing bitch.
She said he was better in the sack than me.

How do you come back at that?
