I'd like to see those selected for R1 to be absolutely cherry ripe for a big performance and not underdone or been on long injury layoffs.

Therefore a few big names may miss by best team for R1.

With another preseason under their belts our list has quite a bit of depth anyway so I reckon whatever team gets out on the G will give the tigers a run for their money.

Might have to review my R1 side after the Intraclub hitout.

Doc and Harry seem to be on track. :smoking:

Like your side Rexy.
I think we might need Casboult in the side to play 2nd ruck (replacing JSOS) and maybe Gibbons ahead of Newnes or Dow for the extra run (saying that I understand Dow has improved his fitness significantly this preseason).
One thing for sure is that we have plenty of depth these days.

Yep, really good depth.

Just think Jack provides a good run with option as well. He's so versatile he's too valuable to leave out.

Why can't Gov have a few minutes as relief ruck. He's fit and firing now and would be no worse than Levi.

You were going quite well there for a while. A 191cm McGovern doing no worse than Levi in the ruck? Surely you're taking the P155?
Levis work as a relieving ruck is significantly under rated by some on this site.

I think we need casboult in the side because he's a @#$%&! good player.

What does he have to do to get respect?

Casboult best 22 every day of the week.

His ruck work is massively under rated by some on this site; we lose absolutely nothing when he relieves big Krooz in the middle.

Oops just realised I've almost word for word said what Blue Vain did a few posts ago. Great minds!!

Your condescending tone at times is also significantly under rated by some on this site.

I think we have enough talls in the team I posted. Adding Levi unbalances it , IMO.

I think Rexy is thinking of Gov pinch hitting in the ruck in the Shaun Grigg mould.
Gov is taller than Grigg.

Many thought/ think Hardwick didn't value the ruck as much with his game plan.
Most think he didn't have a choice as Tigers didn't have any good ruckman fit at times.

I love Levi, and whilst he's not in my Best 22, I would never be unhappy with him in the 22 if fit and in form.
Levi on Friday looked very dangerous in the forwardline.

With question marks on Harry and Charlie for round 1, Levi is the obvious choice for KPF / ruck IMO.

I don't consider Kreuzer the better ruckman between he and Levi.

Its great to see so many players pressing for a spot for round 1.

Up to 30 players are worthy of consideration based on their preseason output.

Great to see Doc, Jones, Willo and Gov back from injury.
Newnes showing signs and Betts and Martin are great gets.
ie 7 newbies adding pressure for spots.

Harry looks to be running well, albeit laps / straight line running.
IMO you can't run like he is if your groins have serious issues.

Great to see the improvement in Fisher , Dow and LOB.
Dows goals in Friday's praccy were GOLD.
Fisher is ferocious with his attack on the ball.

Cuningham the other showing great form too.
Super quick and kicked a 50 metre goal. Awesome.

Then there's Williamson who is showing plenty of toe and a deadly left foot.

Injuries will happen before round 1, but we seem to have great depth.

Marchbank is a class player and should be an auto selection when fit and firing...but for now he's in the recovery group with 7 weeks before round 1.

Levi should be ahead of Gov in the pecking order

Looks like I will miss my first opening game for many years.
None of the people I go with can go so looks like I will be watching from home.
Tickets for home and away members went on sale today.
Anyone with a home only membership has to wait until Wednesday.
