Well done Gill
Should be played in front of 90k.
But the panic merchants have control for the time being

Gutless Gil and Gormless Goyder, hoped and prayed the Government would take the decision out of their hands.

I’d love to see Cunners have an impact with Eddie sidelined.

And spare a thought for Doc - first AFL game since 26 August 2017. Only 8 teammates from the last time he played will be out there with him tomorrow - https://www.blueseum.org/Round+23%2C+2017

Until the 2nd tier comps are reinstated with the same conditions, I refuse to believe that this decision was made for any other reason than dollars and ratings.

I truly hope you aren't over 50 with any pre-existing health conditions.

That's incredible.
14 new players since, for the better.

I'll take that as a good omen.

My work hasn’t closed the doors.
Construction workers aren’t sitting at home.
Bus drivers are showing up to work.
Why do so many people believe all sports must be canceled when most if not all other occupations continue on?

Someone suggested to me today that both AFL and NRL (governing bodies) don't want to play, but by forging ahead and having someone get sick and government block it, would mean force majeure and a favourable insurance result.

A good team. With the exception of Eddie, it's close to what I expected last week.
Hopefully the boys put in a strong showing. Good luck to the girls as well this weekend. Hopefully it's a 6 team finals series so the Pies miss out.

Can someone explain to me this 17 game idea.

The season is 23 rounds. I get the 17 rounds idea but to me that would mean that the season from now gets suspended for 6 weeks and then round 1 starts.

That would give the AFL 6 weeks to see how this thing pans out.

If Round 1 is starting now why not just go ahead with the 23 rounds. If they can play Rd 1 in March why not Rd 23 at the end of August. Most experts expect this virus to peak May/June, so if that is in the middle of the season and things scream to a halt, then what?

Sorry I don't get it.

Regards Cazzesman

They're expecting that at some point they will be asked to stop altogether, and 17 works for now so everyone can play each other once.

They'll cram as many games as they can between now and the time they have to stop, and if it works out to be 17, all the better.

If it’s going to be a compromised season and a compromised premiership, it’s inevitable Essendon* will win it.

Italy had 272 cases on Feb 25. Now 31.5k cases with 2.5k deaths and around 2k critically ill.
I’m pretty sure they were working and carrying on like nothing was going on either...
I bet they wished they locked down earlier now

Just doesn’t feel right to be playing AFL given current world events

Richmond without their '19th man' has to help. I hope.
