Not confident tonight without much of a forward line and following the average showing in the pre-season games.

We need to make this into a bit of a defensive slog if we’re any chance. If the game opens up, they’ll cut right through us and (unlike us) they’ve got the forwards to actually finish off the good work occurring up the ground.

The shorter game should help us - increases the variability of the result. Looks like there could be some rain around which may help us keep the score close.

Anyway I cross my fingers and hope for a miracle tonight. I still yearn for the day where we turn up round 1 either expecting to win or a good chance. We’re still not there.

Go blues

The Workd Health Organisation declared a global pandemic but the AFL continues on

The rule of the dollar keeps rolling on

How about as humans we just adapt to temporary changed world or is that too hard.
The chances are someone associated with the AFL has the virus
I love footy but no crowds reduced quarters

How about we stay home and get some new hobbies

Hard to get excited right now. On the bright side, while Richmond keep beating us, they never blow us away.

17 is in the bag.

Get a win tonight.

Tomorrow morning an AFL player goes 'Positive', season cancelled. Hand us the cup. 2020 undefeated.

Just a thought........................perhaps it is just the delirium :screwy:

With regards to the spread of the virus, playing open air sport is a pee in the ocean compared to 100000 squeezed into trains everyday in Melbourne alone. The reaction by the community to this (36 players on a ground) is almost fraudulent. Idiotic at best.

And yes ... the dollar does rule ... Seems like only sporting businesses have to shut down.

I don't think we can win tonight but I am still excited.

Go Blues!

Heard a very solid rumour that Spotless Catering and Epicure (MCG) are about to tip over.

Lots of stakeholders in the AFL's ear.

Lots of jobs at stake.

Not a fun time really.

Counterpoint: we get molested again and finish the one game season last with zero wins and a % of 21. Another wooden spoon

Nobody is on the train according to my wife this morning.

She can speak for herself, but I'm not jumping off the Teague Train yet! :smoking:

Which train line? Still full of people. Not to mention all the people at their place of employment. Not to mention all in the kids in school.

And people are outraged by 36 players in pristine conditions on a football field. Its crazy. :screwy:

Like most, least excited I’ve been for round 1 in a while. Combination of key players out, ordinary pre season form, corona virus and the likelihood that the season will be stopped dead in it’s tracks anyway, and the no crowd thing just zaps the build up and hype. Probably means we’ll win. Just want to see the kids take the next step into serious senior players. So many of them have the talent and now have the bodies and experience to do it

Pretty sour day for me so far, hoping for a miracle tonight.

If the commentators start dripping all over the Tigers players as soon as they get a couple of goals up i'll be switching off pretty quick. Don't need their drivel as well.
