The Carlton Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of former player and current Rugby League Players’ Association CEO Ian Prendergast to the role of Chief Commercial Officer & General Counsel.

He'd be better as CEO. Smart cookie is Prenda. Did the hard yards, followed a similar path to that of Brendan Gale...as opposed to the current Carlton CEO who has his job because of what Brendan Gale achieved.

As an aside, I think Gale is brilliant. Probably the best sports administrator in the country. Aside from the Analytics (flags, membership, P&L), I love his passion and his humility. Good operation the RFC (vomit).

This does strike me as a similar mould to B Gale returning to Richmond after being CEO of the AFLPA I think.
A good move.
No way he is being appointed to take over from Liddell anytime soon who only recently joined but could be seen as a long term successor.

Well...he has a point - Liddle is pretty @#$%&! average, but being groomed by whom? There's no one at the club who has that type of foresight.
