Papley wasn’t worth pick 9 and happy SoS didn’t overpay. Take Martin in the PSD and pick 9 to the National and we will be ahead. Also, wouldn’t surprise me if we trade pick 9 for 2 later picks. In SOS we trust!!!

Methinks they have.... It's just that they are in the draft.

I feel that with any one of thousands of others in that position (posters on TC and BF included), we would've overspent - either a first rounder for Martin or a first rounder plus some for Papley.

Most Silvagni knockers reckon he got his pants pulled down the past few years. Well, I disagree. But guess what? He definitely didn't THIS YEAR. And we still have a live pick in the top ten plus an early PSD pick (for Martin) to show for it.

I for one am happy he's at the helm!

Yep. Agreed. Mahogany room membership should be a prerequisite for any list manager...

Yeah, but there's a cool hundred buckaroos to be made off windy. Let's keep quiet and split the winnings.

Good post.
I'm feeling confident about our future with SOS in charge.

So its a good move by SOS if he can get a player that he was willing to pay a 2nd & 3rd rounder for, through the PSD? Or not?

Massive overreaction guys, we need diversity of opinion and honest debate. If anyone can’t cope there’s always the foe button.

Please don’t treat us like a bunch of snowflakes who can’t handle any views other than our own.

This is the discussion point for why SOS is good for us, not another bitching point. There’s plenty of those as it stands and too often threads get hijacked with the same shit.

If anyone wants to start a “why SOS is terrible for us” thread then knock yourself out.

I like this approach.

Hmm, I wonder ...

Nah, it won't happen.

Ah, well.

I understand what you're alluding to sinbagger, but Don has explained the reason why, and that's fair enough and clear.

TC has always been a forum with plenty of negative, opposite views and that makes it richer.
But if people want a thread on TC looking at the positives only there's nothing wrong with that. Go and start a thread with an opposing viewpoint, and call it SOS' Failures only.

I value your posts.

I understand that, and was just suggesting something similar.
Its easy. Build it and they will come.

I have some negatives to say about SOS, based on what I wanted and want, but after sleeping on it, I was glad GWS posted that we are better off after the Trade Period and we have our 1st picks for 2019 and 2020 still in our hand for Papley next year plus something even bigger, setting s up for a huge tilt for the flag in 2021.

In your other post you said this thread was meant to be a “discussion point”, but a discussion requires different points of views. What you go in to describe is actually an “echo chamber”.

There’s nothing in the thread title or original post that suggests different opinions are not allowed. If the OP really wanted a “safe space” then they should have been explicit in either the thread title or the original post.

Personally I agree with the OP, but I don’t mind seeing other views, as long as they are not overly disrespectful to others in the discussion. Keoh annoys me like a buzzing mosquito too, but that’s all it is, an annoyance.

Honestly I saw the thread title and the original post as partially a provocative troll to posters like keoh, and reactions were expected. I don’t mean troll in a nasty way either, just a joking provocation.

If we truly want safe spaces (or threads) we should have a protocol for that so there’s no misunderstanding. Otherwise common sense rules.
