It makes sense.
We have the youngest and worst rated (according to champion data) midfield in the comp.
https://www.afl.com.au/news/371619/2020 ... d-to-shine
So we should be definitely targeting a forward or a back.
:donk:
Maybe reading between the lines the club doesn't expect Charlie back at all this year.

And you take notice of champion data, enough said ||

Moore is impressive. Well worth a look

Our interest in Moore makes sense given we’ll be without Charlie for most of the season and Harry & McGovern are working through injury issues at the moment. I also wonder if Curly Jr has come in and squashed plans to pick up Webb (given he would know him well from the Dogs), which has led to us looking at other options.

So which club has a worse midfield than us?
Without bias of our kids potential that we nor stats are yet to see.

Sack SOS :)

Reality is all three are likely to be playing a lot of VFL barring a horror injury run. I’m not sure when the last day to add a player to a list is, but I’d be waiting until that day to see if we get any more injuries and then picking the player as a back up. There’s a defender, forward and midfielder there so that covers all areas too.

I reckon you're on to it. But barring injuries I'm all for a mid.

Carlton paying 105 per cent of salary cap

Carlton are spending 105 per cent of the salary cap in 2020, using the AFL’s ‘‘banking’’ system to maximise player payments and leave themselves room to recruit seasoned players for next year and beyond.

Sound list management strategies. Used the cap bank for Martin and didn’t have to cough up a pick.

Otherwise it was use it or lose it.

Too bad we can’t compete with AFL endorsed ambassador money the Coniglio got.

Or the rigged AFL 'approved' trade of the 2020 'gift' pick for the Suns to Geelong.

Nice to see we seem to be ahead of the curve for once....
Did it with draft trading, doing it with the cap....

Go Blues

That was a joke.
Imagine if the Suns improve dramatically ( which could well happen) and the AFL has to "review" the assistance package.

Still spewing we missed out on snagging Tomlison over the last years.
Have to see the draftees we picked perform, and that gives me some comfort, but nothing proven thus far

I love the idea of tall wingmen...the Collingwood 6 footer started at the end of the 70s.

Use to drool when Walker and waite played on wings. They could run and were both marking outlets from defence...and could sneak up forward to snag a goal too.

Setterfield is our 6 foot winger, but I haven't seen his marking prowess yet. Ditto Walsh. They have their strengths, but winning one on one marking duels is not one. yet

Spent more time in hospital wings sadly.

Midfield = Cripps, Murphy, Walsh and Ed then .................... To many ???????

Martin can pinch hit in the midfield but that's got to be one of the weakest midfield groups. Need at least 6 to 8 very good options to run through the midfield.

I believe our backs are good and forwards, when fit are ok. A good midfield that bats deep would take some heat of our defenders and provide better delivery in to the forward line.

Need SPS, Setterfield, Kennedy, Dow, O'Brien, Cunningham to step up.

This is the List Management thread right?

Who would be responsible for our very thin mid field group.

When do we decide on the last spot?

I'm just going by gut feeling and nothing else but I'd give my last spot to Webb

We need mature bodied mids more than anything else at the moment

Unless you've changed your MO and stopped trying to sit that faulty needle on that faulty record after 347 attempts, can I take a guess please...

But yes, I agree our midfield is thin

I have no idea why we aren't looking at Tippas younger cousin Adam who is training with North. This kid is super quick and apart from our 33 year old we have nobody in our forward line that can crumb and create pressure.
