I don’t know if any saw Marty Rendell on Open Mic but it was an excellent interview
Rendell is a reasonable recruiter
He one criteria for picking a kid was effort
He mentioned Ed Curnow
He reckons Phillips from the Chargers is a beauty
It’s certainly food for thought given the title of this thread
The effort of many in that first half last Saturday was shit

I’m not a massive believer in the ineffectiveness overall of getting the big fish
Mc Govern we all are starting to agree on
Martin why is this bloke loved by you blokes
I don’t get it
As I said this bloke has had it way too easy in his AFL career
When Teague has asked him to put in at the Midfield he has failed
@#$%&! overrated

Now we are going to pay a shitload for a guy who has played 2 good games in the middle his whole career
Williams was average this year
I repeat average
Saad looks great when he runs
He is a liability in the air

I warned everyone about trading out what he had for Mc Govern
BV admit it
At the moment McAdam shits all over McGovern
Period
The poster talking about glass half full
Free Agency
Throwing away multiple picks for one guy
Don’t guarantee success
I reckon under 50%
Come ondown Essendon**

I’ll be the first to say I’m wrong if we make top 4

And it won’t matter if Soss batch of mids turn out to be spuds because if you bat 4 to 5 deep in the middle you are going nowhere
Big deal how many quarters we won
Our ladder position tells us where we are

I want 100% effort

FMD, it's like Groundhog day.
Anything new? different?
Post the same shit post after post. Day after day. We knew your stance the first 100 @#$%&! times you posted it.
Yeah you told us all about McAdam. Surely if we drafted a 25 year old who averages 9 possessions in his 13 games over 2 years we'd be premiership favourites.
I've already shown you the stats. Martin has been better than McAdam, works harder than McAdam and 18 clubs would have him before McAdam.
You're either jealous of the blokes achievements or you have no @#$%&! idea.
Get over it or get a new routine. This one became boring as batshit 1000 posts ago.

Oh
And to be more specific
5.39 left in the first quarter
Martin puts out the left hand and looks up to see what’s coming which is Zac Bailey
Weak and insipid
Cost us a goal
How much was he on this year

Doesn’t matter who we get
We won’t play finals if Teague excepts efforts like that
Love Keogh

One final post then I’ll leave you alone for while
I won’t mention the Carlton player’s name but I was introduced to him by a mutual friend.
The friend said I was a Carton fan which might Come as a surprise to many but I am
I didn’t want to chew his ear off but I ask him about Cuningham
I said he seems to have all the tools. What’s the problem.

The player pointed to his head.
In other words effort
Doesnt want to smash his opponent
Lacks that killer instinct

So what if we get these so called guns
If we continue to play soft footy and allow non physical footy to be not held accountable we are never going to progress
4 quarters of 100% effort
That’s what I want by whoever in 2021

You got all that out of a teammate pointing at his head?

I agree that I expect more consistency from Cunningham and Martin. We’ve seen some of their best. Need more of it.

I call you on out relying on the opinion of your ‘player’ friend. If you choose to buy into to his opinion you’d acknowledge the Carlton playing group had Jack Martin as one of their 3 most valuable players this year! Over to you to be consistent.

A player who points to his head on the first meeting?
Tsk tsk

I once met Keogh through a mutual friend and was introduced as a fellow TC user. Recognising some of Keogh’s work, I asked him where he gets his ideas on list management from and he pointed to his arse.

Make of that what you will.

Maybe the ‘point to the head’ gesture means Cunners lacks confidence and self-belief.

He's a cheeky bastard, playing a prank, or talking out of his ass?

I hope the former because it's absolute trash.

This is the biggest joke yet by the AFL - "Clubs are still waiting on a decision from the AFL on list numbers for next year"
Apart from making it hard for clubs, what about the players lively hood and future?
Seriously pathetic and the fact the AFL think it's all good and well to drag it on, makes it even a bigger disgrace.
As previously stated, these list change affects us as a club more than anyone else and more importantly with the last 12 months playing restrictions/development.
I really hope the 'players association' finally earns there money and stands firm here and tell the AFL to f@#k off - we are keeping the current list sizes!!!!

Get Saad.

Find a way to get a first round pick in, and get Kelly/Merrett and if you can, get Viney.

Then I can say with conviction, we are knocking on the door to The Big Dance.

We are not that far off. We need the pieces to make it all click.

Return memo from the desk of Mr Austin:

Please advise how you expect to pay for all of that.

I did that yesterday re 105% ctotal player payment. Use it or lose it. Front load.

Its not a question of money. We've been spending only 5% of our TPP, and front loading to get to that point.

Can we get them to sign with us?

Knowing the father of a current player I would suggest this is more the meaning especially given his poor run with injuries.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the draft gets cut to just four rounds as well.

100-150 players added to the free agency pool. Most of whom will trickle down into the second tier comps... might be a paper bag shortage at the supermarkets.
