Intrigued by Teagues comment in his presser about the coaches approaching Fisher to become a small forward.

If there is a place where we need more depth, and pace, it would be the midfield I would of thought.

Curious what the rationale is/was? Short term move? Banking on Dow & Lob to make it as mids?

Maybe they've decided he's never going to be strong enough to play midfield full-time, and that his one-footedness kills midfield momentum. And, hopefully, because SPS is moving to midfield.

Our 2nd best midfielder is not as good as west coasts 6th best (which is probably Sheed). They have Yeo, Shuey, Gaff, Redden, Kelly). You might rank Setterfield or Walsh at 7.

Need a quality mid or two.

3 of Eagles 6 come from other clubs

Same thoughts here MPH.

I couldn't believe it when I heard it.
Lets pigeon hole Fisher, or anyone.

If you want a game Fish, you have to be a small forward.
No choice.

Ofcourse he came back to Teague and said he would.

Fish should be like Papley. Have stints playing on the ball.

Pigeon holing Fish goes against the multi positional mantra Teague talks about.

That's an amazing fact sticks. 3/6. :sly:

Gotta keep searching and dangling the carrot.

And there it is in a nutshell

Although I still maintain that TDK would have been able to split a few of those ruck contests versus Natanui in the third quarter, but probably not enough to take Nathan Williamson’s influence out of the game.

Sure would be nice to have Coniglio and Papley running around for us and we could target a Wines/Brayshaw to compliment and round it off...

End of this season Eddie, Marc, Kruez and Simmo should be thanked for their years of service and be pensioned off. Then chase a couple of big bodied mid-fielders.

Always a big fan of Simmo, but I wish he hadn't played on this year. We've got kids who need game time to sort out whether they're up to it or not. We have to look to the future, we must at the very least make finals in 2022. The supporter base can only stay loyal for so long before membership drops off. The years of dashed hopes have an effect on us all. How many rebuilds with little result can we stand?

Levi grinning after his woeful shot on goal. Crippa with a shit eating grin on his face after his one handed mark; then misses the easy shot. Players laughing and joking with the opposition after a game that once again got away from us. I do wonder about the culture in our club.

My 11yr old has more size than Fisher based on yesterday’s game. Keep him forward until he can get some size back this summer.

Do you think he’ll ever be as big as Simpson?

Sign of the times.

Free Agency. Player movements the norm.

They may have had a laugh with have been either past team mates they haven't seen much of during lockdown, or they know its high probable the club will trade them and they may become team mates in the future.

Times have changed for Gen Y

Probably can say the same about SPS. I think he's too light and not enough core strength to hold a position in the backline.

I'm truly surprised by Teague's comments regarding Fisher.
I can see why he would push for him to get his forward art better but it sounded more like your position in the team is as a small forward.
I can see this being a long term issue for Fish.

Honey and Philp are midfielders, not small forwards.
Small forward is a specialist role. SOS found out the hard way (to our detriment) that you can't just turn someone into a small forward. You need the agility, instinct and goal sense to be successful.

Philp is actually listed as a forward on the CFC website.
