Yep the young boys had plenty of games to prove themselves..
Didn’t realise at the ripe old age of 20 just fu&k them off because they are not as good as !@$@/3!!
People need to grow up and stop expecting these young kids to dominate straight away or within 3 years..
How many blokes were given games this year because of the name, McGovern, Casboult, Betts, Newnes, SPS, Gibbons and so on..

Please give these YOUNG kids time....

Newnes got games because he absolutely deserved them.

Yes to both Newnes and Gibbons...Gibbo had some quiet patches but I'm an unabashed Gibbo fan so I could be looking through rose coloured glasses

Managed (NOT): Murphy, Simmo, Cripps, Doc, Curnow, Betts, Casboult, Willo???
Dropped (NOT): SPS, McGovern, Casboult

It was 3 1st rounders in a super draft.

We had 2 1st rounders in the 2017 draft and they’ve yet to kick on.

You trade pick 7 if the right 25yo player is on offer. Unless pick 7 is Walsh or Serong who can impact games immediately then it should be up for trade now.

I'm liking Pom's strategy for the most part.

This off season is really important for us
Aints who just have got over the line but won a final and critical to that were Howard Butler Jones Ryder
Whether they stay there is an issue
Not that we necessarily want to just play minor finals but Aints have elevated themselves into the 8 with their trade period last year

I hate that accent.
It reminds me of Geoffrey Boycott.

That aside, interesting watch.

I found this on Youtube.
It has to do with the Bulldogs list build.
Keogh should like it.

Not enough for Oliver.

Saad wants to be traded to us.
It will take #7 getting involved according to 360.

Afl.com reckons late 1st needed for Saad so if that Pom guy's 7-for-15+16 trade is feasible then it could be the best path to getting Saad. Of course, we all know * will do their best to drag this out and ensure no one wins.

Ports 3 youngsters are surrounded by mature hard bodies, our youngsters are expected to come in and be those mature hard bodies, it make a pretty big difference to a kids development if they have some protection.

Our list has a gap in that area.

Best post I have read today. Exactly. We need to stop trying to sell the farm (today) and keep an eye to the future and keep building through the draft.

ps. Let's see how the Saints go next year.

Although it's only fair to point out that trading in mature age players for high picks did help the Hawks win 3 flags. Remember they totally screwed away a couple of top ten picks as well in Beau Dowler and Mitch Thorp, who was taken the pick before Joel Selwood.

2020 off season we sack the entire player list except Patrick Cripps. We sack 90% of staff, dieticians, sports scientists, clingers and hangers on, the lot of them and the board to take a 50% pay cut.

We put the entire kitty into research and development to clone Patrick Cripps. With 21 Patrick Cripps on field we'll be one step away from a Premiership.

We'll still need a ruckman ....
