Now Teague and the players have to produce the goods. No more excuses. We have a young list with a couple of superstars in it.

We have a big 4 club that is only inches from being a destination club again.

We will finish at best 15th, which puts us in the bottom six for the draw next year. We have pick 10 or thereabouts plus Stocker.

We have a young coach who seems to be respected by the so called experts for his demeanour and knowledge. He will get the chance to shape the list to suit what will be a new game plan next year. With a decent run on the injury front, we should win at least 10 games next year. We almost won that many this year...

All good points BS.

Finishing 15th or 16th we will have a favourable draw in 2020 ... assuming the corrupted/ compromising AFL Commission doesn't interfere with this.

We finished off the season strongly beating Top 8 teams Bribane and Adelaide and taking up the fight with recent Premiers WCE and Tigers, all with the new coach, missing plenty of stars through injury but with a list of kids rich in quality.

A preseason ahead to strengthen the young bodies and tune players into a new game plan.

We win 7 games in 2019 and lose against GCS, Hawks, Doggies and Dees by less than a goal. Shouldv'e had at least 11 wins in a relatively bad year.

We lost games when in front at 3/4 time or hit the front in the last against Tigers, Port, Swans, Pies (umpires) and StKilda.

The media will highlight this position and report that

"... this current list could have potentially won 15-16 games with a fit list and winning game plan and played finals.
With the return of captain Docherty, Charlie Curnow, Marchbank and Cuningham and the addition of a couple quality Players like x and y, along with natural improvement of the kids and a better game plan in 2020 there's a high chance Carlton will be the big improver, like Brisbane was in 2019, and will leap into and play finals in 2020."

Finals are not out of the question for Carlton 2020, in fact, thay are an expectation.

Carlton is a destination club.

Could not be happier with this announcement.

Can't wait to see what he can do with the lads with at least a couple of pre seasons to get the players super drilled to his specific style.

Dear Liam,

We are delighted to let you know that the Carlton Football Club has appointed David Teague as its Senior Coach.

David has signed on to lead our AFL team for at least the next three seasons, becoming the 34th coach in Carlton’s 155-year history.

Having been a John Nicholls Medallist during a playing career that included 50 games in the Navy Blue, David now steps into the senior role determined to coach our great club to success.

Today’s announcement is the culmination of 12 years of hard work for David, who began his coaching journey as a 26-year-old with the Northern Bullants in 2008.

After three years, and back-to-back VFL Grand Final appearances, he then commenced a thorough AFL apprenticeship spanning nine years.

This extensive progression began with the West Coast Eagles in 2011 and included time at St Kilda and Adelaide before returning to Ikon Park where he has been an assistant coach since 2018.

As we know, David was given the opportunity to put his wealth of experience into effect this season when he was appointed interim coach in Round 12.

From that moment he has instilled belief and confidence in our players, as well as showcasing an exciting brand of football.

This has translated into an uplift in on-field performance that has seen us enjoy a resurgence in the second half of the season.

For the last two months the Club has conducted an extensive and thorough process in order to secure a senior coach who was going to be able to hit the ground running and take our football club forward as we look towards to a sustained era of success.

David has shown the ability to build meaningful relationships, not only with his players but his staff and especially our members and supporters. Our entire football club cannot wait to take this next significant step as we work towards our ultimate goal of winning our 17th AFL premiership.

As a club, we congratulate David, his wife Hannah, and their family as we look forward to sharing this journey together.

I look forward to seeing you at the footy on Saturday when we take on the Saints.

Go Blues!

If we got that sniping prick Clarkson, or that whining cauliflower Scott, I would have been horrified - another messiah.

The players, as much as they could without saying the exact words "I want Teague", said pretty much exactly that both by how they've responded on-field and how they've answered when the question was put to them.

Bolts may have "fallen in love" with the players. But the players clearly have fallen in love with Teague.

That's the essence of a destination club (that and results, but that will follow).

Go Teaguey!

Both of them are winging sniping pricks.

Thank god we dodged that bullet.

@#$%&! Clarkson, and whilst he's at the Hawks, @#$%&! the Hawks too, along with their dirty cheating benefactor and partner in crime, the AFL Commission.

For those who asked, here's Blueman's prophecy (was it really that long ago?!!)

Quote:
Resurrecting 2012 is possible - Don’t write it off despite it not being all that likely.

This is because a flag is won from a low spot in the eight during an even season where there is no clearly dominant side.

There is also no reason why the new young coach shouldn't come on to the scene for flag number 18 or 19... Not likely -but possible.

It is also possible that there could even be a short coaching appointment for someone like MM - a kind of interim coach after Ratten. Again - there are other more likely scenarios - but this could conceivably occur...

So at this point there are still many different branches to some widely variable worldlines any of which could occur.

The arrival of the new young coach (whenever it is) does not occur during a war - but the premiership that he wins for the club occurs during a war and in the middle of a severe economic depression..

The war at that time is an opening battle which precedes a later and much larger conflict - which we will eventually know as WW3,

The time has a feel about it which is similar to that of the middle of the 1930's

Far more people are using public transport than at present.

The appointment the New young coach is generally seen as an underwhelming choice by the football community.

A sacking of Ratten would be amidst circumstances that are beyond his control and the decision to pull the pin is not unanimous.

Those who argue for patience and more time are over ruled...

Teague appointed and plenty originally saw him as underwhelming and no chance at the job and he is no big name.

Wall Street took a hammering overnight

Bring on the war

WOW

Thanks Scotty.

I have heard the current Ideological war with Bin Laden and Taliban referred to as WW3.
The war of the worlds. The 2 worlds collide. Whose the Turkish President ... Ergadan, continuing to antagonise the worlds after the NZ masacre...its a long fought war that continues.

Public Transport being rolled out across every city: rail, road, airports, ferries....to overcome the ratrace congestion of our choking cities.

Go Blues

We are in the middle of the war.

We are always victims of Wall st. That's nothing new.
Algorithms and computers make the decisions in that joint. Reactive and reacting at every whim.

Now we want some peace so we can all watch the Blues rise from the ashes, after the Aussies win them in England.

The opening salvo of WW3 that he refers to is the crisis in HongKong...and Wall Street is crashing....

You could also argue he was first “appointed” coach of our reserves a long time ago...

It’s got a bit of a 1978 feel when Jezza was appointed and he took us to the finals (from last on the ladder) and then a premiership the following year.

I did say “a bit” - so there won’t be finals this year........
