Carlton 56% disposal efficiency - bush league stuff

Simpson went at 48%

I hope the players and coaches took notes today.

And that Cogs and Papley paid more attention to our commitment in the 2nd vs the 1st.

Every time we went for the chaos kick out of the back line, it seemed to fall to a losing situation on the ground.
They were a lot cleaner with their ball handling.
We got towelled up in the uncontested possessions.
If we are going to bomb it long to the F50 for the foreseeable future, it would help if our tall forwards were either somewhere nearby and gave a @#$%&!.
We got beaten in the air inside our own F50 AGAIN, even though it was some improvement on last week. How is is that week after week our forwards can't take their fair share of marks inside fifty when down the other end we get scored against by players running loose and taking uncontested marks?

Early in the third, I thought we were lucky to be so close but at the end, the scoreboard flattered them, especially given that goal after the siren. Everybody at the ground and watching on TV heard that siren but the stupid effing umpire said,
"I thought it was after the siren."
No wonder people deride them week after week. It was such a basic error.
Bald headed flog!

The mark paid after the siren was real bush league stuff.

Pity about the last minute, especially when that mark was well after the siren, as 16pts against a side at the peak of their powers, for the 2nd week in a row, would've looked pretty good. How lucky are we to get such a stinking draw to finish the season.

Same issue as about 6 weeks ago, too much start. 6 goals to zip in the wet is tough to come back from. Come back strong but it was a bit much. Teague needed to man the spare up earlier than he did.

Respectable but could've been better with a much better first half.

Imagine being on us at the line. That Mark and goal got Richmond across. I would be screaming the house down.

Frustrating game.

Plenty to like about a few players. Thought jones was magnificent.

We did carry a few passengers though. At selection I thought Kennedy deserved to keep his spot ahead of Lang.

Bewildering calls and noncalls from the umps all day

20 years+ and counting. For me, there have been 2 constants during this time:

1. as above
2. we are always smaller and skinnier.

Re: #1, we seem to recruit players who were poorly coached and drilled in their junior years. i.e. slow to react when we win a turnover, and slow to react when the other team counter attacks. Could also be due to the fact that our basic skills have been so poor that rectifying deficiencies in handball, tackling, kicking, etc. has taken precedence over tactics that become an automatic process.

Pros:

Effort. Thought we had more of the play over the last 3 quarters.
Jones, Simmo, Plowman and Thomas.
SPS and McGovern were pretty good.
Casboult had a good 2nd half.
Gibbons was a lot cleaner than most of his teammates.
Weitering finished well, after a poor 3rd quarter.

Cons:

Forward inefficiency. The final margin.
Too many non-contributors. Wet conditions and slight bodies were always going to be a problem.
Kreuzer is rubbish as a centre bounce ruckman.
Newman's 4 goals last week turned into Graham's 4 goals this week.
Tom Lynch 4 frees. I wonder what it would be like to have a forward who consistently got rewarded by the umps?

Disappointed with the end result .
Need to win center clearances we were smashed there.
Tiges could not get extra numbers back if you win it out of the middle.

I might be one eyed but geez we get a bum deal off the umpires.

Umps are cheats
Tigers must slipped them a few thousand before the start of play

Agreed - he would have offered more, especially with the wet conditions.
