If anything we are a persistent lot. Another goal and we win the 2nd half.

That could've been worse.

Yes.
They stuck it out.
Considering the crap forward half play where we just insisted in turning it over in the F50 by bombing it, we did well.

That was 80pts a couple of months ago.

That was a good effort

Need more running power

Players like Fischer, Dow & Cunningham will be important going forward

Badly missed Kreuzer, Jones and Thomas.

Newman, Simmo, JSOS, Gibbons, Walsh and Weiters all good. Harry better this week.

WCE simply to strong, quick, talented, slick and all around a very good team back, middle and forward.

That last 10 mins of the 2nd and first 15 of the 3rd did us in.

Goddard - Not up to it
O'Brien - falters under pressure. Not for mine. Needs a season in the VFL to HTFU.
Setterfield needs to take a leaf out of Walsh's book and hunt the ball like Walsh does.
Fisher - Has his workrate dropped off???

Regards Cazzesman

Yes - both don't appear to like the really tough stuff.

Pros:
The crowd was right in it for most of the day. Well done to those who went along.
We played 4 quarters with a few lapses in system and concentration.
Simmo was great all day except for a brain fade.
Phillips broke even against quality.
Newman.
Gibbons
Jack
Walsh is a machine
SPS in the last
Weitering on Kennedy
Cons:
Bombed it long into the F50 all day and turned it over (a world record?) 23 times to intercept marks.
Too many passengers. Schumacher had a game he would like to forget. Lang, O’Brien, Goddard, Kennedy, DeLuca, Fisher all beaten and limited influence on the game.

We have Levi and Harry, two of the very best contested marks in the competition in our forward line but they were unsighted where we needed them. Levi took one mark inside fifty and Harry none that I can recall, unless that last one was counted as ‘on the line is in’. Today under pressure we reverted to the BB game plan of having the forwards too high and kick long down the line to a turnover.
Why Harry has to take 9 marks on the half back flank is a mystery to me if it is up to Gibbons and Fisher to try and mark the footy when it arrives long and high inside fifty. Obviously, Teague likes it because it is his F50 setup even in the BB game plan.
Port (I think it was) beat WCE by kicking the footy along the ground into their F50 to prevent the intercept marks. If it wasn’t them it isn’t important which coach it was that did it. Surely Teague knew that if I did.
We were in that game up to our eyeballs until Yeo got hold of Cripps. Great matchup with both players having a reduced effect on the game. And Walsh faded a bit, which turned the clearances against us.
We need another clearance mid. Even Ed was quiet today. Also a top class ruck. TDK, come on down if you can.
I had hoped we would win but we are still a little way off.
I wanted them to win the last and I think they did. Play 4 quarters and do your best. That is acceptable. I do think Teague was outcoached today, just the same.
Bring on next week.

Expected result against the reigning premiers. Glad we fought out the game, but the Eagles showed us the hard work and relentlessness it takes to be a top team. Chin up Bluess, you by no means disgraced yourself today

Very kind to Darcy Lang. I put him in your Goddard category.

Pros:

Won 2 quarters. Minimised a blowout.
Walsh is incredible.
Newman, Simmo, Weitering, Gibbons, SOJ, Harry.
Thought Phillip's ruckwork was again pretty good.
Even though he wasn't really ready, at least Schumacher has some good AFL traits.
We finally won the free kick count.

Cons:

Didn't really look in the game after WC cleared out in front.
Opposition intercept marks in our forward 50.
Couldn't prevent their slick ball movement out of our forward line.
Couldn't reduce their forward efficiency very much.
Darling up to his standard ducking, diving, cheating tricks.
Goddard twice kicked the ground at the same time as the ball.

Didn't watch but looking at the stats Walsh looks to have delivered again. A phenomenon.
