Greg "Diesel" Williams is one of the greatest players to every grace the footy fields. Diesel had his fair share of roadblocks, being cut twice by the Blues before storming onto the scene with a 38 disposal effort for the Cats. The 3 club, 250 game champion went on to create one of the most storied careers of all time.

Diesel discusses he current elite players he mentors, some major differences to the footy landscape he played in, of course some unheard of locker room banter and more outlandish stories. In addition, there is some very interesting insights as to the vibe/mood at the time Diesel first started working at the Blues (3-4 weeks prior to Bolt's getting sacked).

Have a listen to our chat with Diesel!

Thanks for that mg. Really good listen. I love listening to Diesel reflect on his career. He was so good, & he knows it, & doesn’t try to deny it, at all

Interesting to hear him say he’s trying to get the mids to handball longer, especially Cripps. Said the current players think a 10m handball is long, which to him is nothing :smoking:

Said Liam Stocker will be a very good mid for us, the standout of his game being his toughness.

Some great Luke O’Sullivan stories in there too.

Yeah and love his arrogance! He just knows how good he was!

Also seems to have started just working with Cripps and Stocker but now is looking after all the mids, so he has obviously made a strong impact in his short time at the club.

Did you notice some of the 20m handballs Cripps did last match from outside to space in the corridor?...was great to see and was a clear change of tactics.

Charlie Curnow is a stinker?

haha, I had a chat to Billy Gowers recently and he said Charlie Curnow was the smelliest and least hygienic teammate at the club! That's why I checked with Diesel to see if the rumour were true

We have definitely had balled longer last few games. Very noticeable even my kids have said wow what a handball. Even the goal daisy set up was out of the ordinary

I commented on one of the Murphy ones at the time.
"That was a handball and a half."

Except it was the wrong option to a guy under the pump. There was a player in the clear behind him in the centre corridor.

Bit concerned with the way he trailed off at times on SEN yesterday.

Superb! So refreshing to just hear someone being honest. And when you were as good as him, he can be that confident about yourself.
