Some are being a bit precious about Harry. He had a pretty good game. 14 touches, 10 marks and 2.2.

If he'd kicked straight, he might have ended with 4-5 and BOG.

Did the job. That’s all, but that’s exactly what i want at this point.

Now bring on the Crows. I hope we smash in and crush them, putting a nail in their finals coffin.

Jones was BOG for mine - could have got dicey there in the last half if it wasn’t for him.

Should have won by more but a win is a win. The defense was terrific, particularly Weiitering and Jones. Really impressed by Harry's tackling, particularly in the first quarter. However, for someone with a good kicking action his kicking for goal is disappointing - nearly always fading to the right. There were lots of other bit players who did good things at various stages. I think that O'Brien is improving, but didn't notice him much in the 4th quarter. I don't see the stats but are we winning the kick out on the full competition ? Frustrating to watch.

After my commitments in Melbourne I decided to watch the last half. An hour or so of my life I won't get back. 15 min of ourstanding football, great skills then 20 min of bludging and crap, poor skills and workrate. Then a last qtr where we did enough to stop them scoring while not doing much ourselves.

Nothing a killer instinct won't fix. Could've won by whatever we wanted but "chose" to win by 4 goals....grrrr. Easiest 4 goal win ever.

And the maggots were disgraceful- did not miss a single Gold Coast free kick.

They missed plethoras of ours.

Jack put in a super fifteen minute or so shift on the ball when the game was swinging back their way. Really halted their momentum. He's growing so much.

Pros:

We got the job done.
Some nice ball movement out of defence.
Walsh, SPS and Kennedy.
Jones and Weitering.
Casboult and Harry.

Cons:

Couldn't convert our half time lead into a comfortable margin.
Out tackled. Killed in the centre clearances. Beaten for the contested ball in general.
Hope someone's doing some work with Harry on his set shots, because they're horrible at the moment.
Umpiring. Felt like every 2nd clearance they would get a soft free. And some of those ridiculous advantage calls when they finally decided to pay us a free. :banghead:
2nd week in a row we've been stuck with the Fox Footy work experience crew. How many times did we miss the ball in play, because of a replay, or because they lingered on some player with a torn jumper or sitting on the bench? :banghead: And that was just the visual side. We also had to put up with Dwayne and Roos barracking against every pro-Carlton adjudication.

Also thought it was a pretty encouraging performance from Lang.

Happy to get the win......and the lessons.

Thought we were poor at different stages today. They smashed us out of the middle and in clearances.

Had the opportunity to put the game away in the 2nd AND 3rd quarters only to let them right back in. Game should never of been live at 3 qtr time.

Jones was immense. Weitering was pretty good too.

Guess it’s still significant progress for us to be somewhat underwhelmed with a win. Happy to win ugly and reset for the Crows.

Special K couldn't get over or around the big Witts and got smashed. All credit to him he kept trying to have some impact but but Witts dominant.

What's the chances we would have won against the Doggies and Melbourne if Jones played. He was brilliant today.

Liked Kennedy, Murph, Ed, Weiters, Walsh and Levi.

Setters was Ok. O'brien better but still takes some short steps at times.

SOS is in our best 22 from here on in.

SPS some nice work after 1//4 time.

If it is a ploy for Harry and Levi to both fly at the same ball we have to find an A Grade crumber from somewhere.

Nice to see a win live but once we got 7 gls up 10 mins into the 3rd a 10-13 gl win should have been the story. Baby steps.

Regards Cazzesman

Ugly win. But I'd take that every day.
Heaps to work on for next week.

Adelaide losing.
Pies getting smashed.

Good weekend

Should've won by more, felt like we won by less.

Going to watch the replay at home because at the ground I literally has no idea what half the frees paid to GC we're for.

Barass70 on Big Footy said Kreuzer “played sore”

If so - respect to the tractor - because sore for him would be dead to most other

Positives
We won

For years never won games that we should and today we did

Jones BOG length of straight excellent

Weiters really good

H frustrating his kicking for goal but a good game
Levi another good one

Won without Kreuz or Cripps doing much

Debuted another deluca today always good -wanted him to wear the same gloves Fabian did all those years ago
Negatives
Murdered out of middle
Umpires no feel for game terrible
Skill level just going

Smashed in the clearances and centre square today. Even those we won seemed less effective.

I wonder if Cripps is injured....i thought there were a number of times he should have kicked but instead hand balled to a 50/50.

Talk on Twitter that Harry has a groin injury, and it impacts his kicking.

I just love watching him play. You know he’s likely to good job, but there is still a bit of heart in mouth stuff when he gets near the bal.

I am just so pleased for the guy. Any footballer who still lived at home in his mid twenties with posters of his idols on the wall is pretty cool. Good on him. He is a pleasure to watch.

Learning how to win when not at our best is something we need more practice at
