Teague's biggest challenge so far will be slapping the "We just expected it to happen" mindset out of these players in the leadup to this game.

We know they're thinking it, they always do. It needs to be stomped out.

They need to treat this game as if their careers depend on it.

Well the consistent effort since he’s taken charge would indicate he’s done quite well with that (the poor starts the only blight on things).

Under bolts even the melb loss would of been fawned over with the green shoots crap and we wouldn’t of shown up against the swans.

2 wins in a row though, haven’t done that for over 2 years.

I just hope the attitude isn't "We just have to turn up"
That would erase any gains so far.
GC still have 22 AFL footballers.

I think it would be OK for us supporters not to have a game come down to the last 70 secs

Time for the obligatory "Fire up for Carlton" preamble

Bemoaning the lack of effort and fight in the Suns, questions were asked of coach Stuart Dew about where on earth Gold Coast goes from here.

“We sat here seven days ago (after the 92-point loss to Richmond), looking for a response … The last two weeks, we’ve certainly lost our way.

“Sometimes you can say it’s not as bad as it seems, but when there’s two performances like that, that’s not what we’re after.”

Dew saved his most surprising post-game comments for when discussing his opponents.

“But tonight, I think, look at the Crows coaches box in the last quarter there. So, that stings. It’s got to sting. That’s where we’re at. That’s what they think of us.”

When asked to clarify what had gone on in the Crows coaches box, Dew said: “They laughed in the last quarter. We’ve got to live with that. It is what it is.”

What was he watching them for anyway? Did they have hamburgers or something?

Would have showed up on his monitors in the box.

We should be expected them to be fired up. We should approach every game like that.
This is the first of Teague's reign where we'd be the favourites. So a big test

I think it’s an excellent test for Teague this week and will provide another marker on what he can get this group to produce.

We all know this teams frailty, can he get inside their heads and have them breathing fire from the opening bounce against a less talented team? Suns should be up for it as it’s their last chance to get a win.

It’s always easier to play with freedom when the expectations are low. Now we are all watching anticipating a win. Do they go into their shells or does Teague slap their faces and remind them there’s 18 other players out there just as hungry to win and if you sit on your heels they’ll grab it and take it away.

Miles will miss Gold Coast's clash with Carlton, also earning a one-match suspension for his bump to Adelaide's Riley Knight on Saturday evening.

Miles collected an unaware Knight off the ball, with the action also graded by the Match Review Officer as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.

Honestly we may get our first 120pt + score this week. When did that last happen?

Looking forward to a big win.

Team is good enough to win two in a row for the first since whenever.

Weitering and Cuningham in for Goddard and Lang. Alternatively give Dow a spell.

Both changes are improvements on last weeks team

One good thing....

we're not flavour of the week...so shouldn't
get too much air time for tyre pumping...!

it's all about the D.F.C.B.&R.C's and their
brave win...over a team one game below them
on the ladder...!

kindest regards tommi

All the media heat is on the Suns.

Don't think we're going to have it easy. Expect a response.

They will also be without Bowes, Ainsworth and Holman who played well against us earlier in the year. Jack Martin isn't playing either however I'm not sure he's much of a loss for them anyway.

Cunners is an automatic selection if fit

Couldn’t agree more. Every footy show tonight has devoted 10 minutes to talking about how hopeless the suns are. They’ll come out breathing fire. We need to be on from the bounce

Well they need all the talent they can get so he is a loss.

They will miss those guys out.

The AFL can’t justify a Priority Pick for Gold Coast, if the Gold Coast have won more games than Carlton since 2015.

The memo would have gone out to Mark Evans already.

The Gold Coast and media are out in force saying they need help.
It absolutely serves no interest for them to come out all guns blazing and knock us off. If they do it will only hinder what they are trying to achieve.
Blues should have a easy win this week
