I wonder when the mighty Blues were last $1.23 favourites going in to a game (current odds from Bet Easy)?

It will be interesting to see if Owies gets an opportunity. Being the travelling emergency last week, they obviously think he is getting close.

In a strange way this is a nice test for Teague. Recent Carlton sides would blow an opportunity like this, that is they would be odds on to lose a game they should win. Can Teague get the group to be fair dinkum and be 110% motivated and driven? Gold Coast are absolutely lambs to the slaughter. But are we mentally tough enough to be the executioners?

We haven’t won two games in a row since round 13, 2017, when we beat Gold Coast.

Time to do it again.

I still expect lynch to kick 10 on us.

I need some major therapy.

I remember the days when we use to ponder when we last won 4 games in a row.. what a time to be alive

The team is building nicely under Teague:
First - win
Then - don’t get smashed (this test will come again in the next few weeks...)
Then - win again
Then, last week - play 4 quarters and lead the whole game ...and win

This week, we face another challenge and hopefully two challenges:
1) Win a game we are expected to win
2) Assuming we achieve (1) win by a lot (the first Bulldogs game was good but it would be good to show that we can smash a crap team. Plus pay them back from snatching the win earlier in the year...)

That's a good 5 "high contact" free kicks averted.

With Cuningham another week away I’d just go with the one obvious change. Weiters for Goddard. Wouldn’t mind giving Lang the rest of the season in the seniors. If he can’t find some form by then put a line through him and move on.

Also wouldn’t mind having a look at Owies it Garlett in a small forward role

I have 3 boys ages 10-15, it's been hard to get the younger 2 really keen over the years. In the car this morning, all 3 indicated they were keen for Saturday. The tide is turning.

Not even then - IIRC, we called off an intra-club match a few years ago because it was raining.

As predicted. Could be the last chance for Lang with Cuningham due back next week
