In: Cripps, Cunningham, Goddard, Macreadie
Out: Marchbank (inj), Weitering (inj), Lang, Setterfield

B: Plowman Jones Macreadie
HB: Thomas Goddard Simmo
C: Walsh Cripps SPS
HF: Dow Casboult SOJ
F: Murphy McGovern Kennedy

R: Kreuzer E Curnow Fisher

Inter: Cunningham, Gibbons, LOB, Newman

Goddard is in good form and deserves a game - he must be leading the VFL team’s B&F voting by the length of the Flemington straight - so while the cause of his inclusion is disappointing (injuries to Weitering & Marchbank), I’d be pleased by the fact of it.

I think we need to bring in another defender who knows our system, so I’d give Macreadie (who has quietly run into some solid VFL form) a chance. Bring McKay back via the VFL.

It might seem a bit stiff to drop Setterfield (who I think will be a good player for us) after a 3 goal game, but I think one of he, Kennedy or SOJ has to make way for Cripps. SOJ is fairly safe, so it’s a bit of a toss of the coin between Kennedy & Setterfield. A good run in the VFL might not be the worse thing for him anyway.

Plowman you'd think will survive given we're losing 2 of our back 6 already.

Lang can make way for Cripps.

I’d rather we make Cunningham earn his spot via the VFL and reward a good game by Setterfield with an extra week.

Did Setterfield have such a good game? Anyway, Cunningham gives us something we lack. If he’s fit, I would bring him straight in.

No. Setterfield was one of the guilty party. He needs reserves footy. Did not get out of a jog. Cuningham must play.

I’d like Cuningham to come in and shoot for 4 games in a row.

I just think the likes of LOB, Dow, Kennedy etc need to be played and played. Get as many games into them as we can.

Five shots on goal, was robbed of a sixth easy shot when the umpire didn’t see him being smacked in the head while taking a chest mark in the last from front on contact. Could have had a seventh if SPS hadn’t butchered a pass when he was metres in the clear running into goal also in the last.

Not such a bad game, but I couldn’t judge his off the ball work from the TV.

Buddy to have his usual SCG party against us for his 300th.
You could sadly almost guarantee it.

Listed as 2-3 weeks last week - If he was a Carlton player listed like that we would be making funeral preparations

In: Cripps, McKay, Goddard
Out: Weitering (still looking for his nose on the MCG), Marchbank, Dow

Dow had 7 possessions.
Lang had 9 so could be him but i suspect Dow could use a rest and they may wish to give Lang a few games upon which to make a call on his future.

I’m actually worried about Blakey. And of course Parker.
Maybe Casboult to Reid. Jones to Blakey. Plowman or Daisy on Parker?

Obviously Kennedy needs to be shut down.
But Heaney is in good form and he cut us up last time.

Maybe SOJ to Kennedy. Curnow to Heeney but as an offensive tag, as it were (not sure we’d want to be taking two players out in a tagging role).

We need to really dominate the ruck and then clearances.
And it would really be great if we could hit targets.

"The Blues expect Cripps and McKay to return on Saturday, though Cuningham is another week away due to a knee problem. Marchbank will miss the remainder of the season with a neck injury, but the club expects Weitering to play despite a broken nose. - Riley Beveridge"

"Cameron could be included to face Carlton this week if he can train strongly, while McVeigh is expected to be available, and is likely to play in the NEAFL. Franklin has started running but is still at least three weeks away, while Naismith is working hard on his conditioning, and could play in the final month of the year. The luckless Ling hurt his Achilles a couple of weeks ago but is expected back in the next month. - Adam Curley"

I reckon we are going to see Polson. "Forward pressure" or some such description.
