Hope we don't give the bye a 6 goal lead next week...

Welcome back Jones?

No change for mine (assuming no injuries).

Jack Silvagni pushed his case for a recall fairly well, maybe Kennedy but other than those 2 and Jones if he comes up (and if they put him straight into the firsts which I wouldn't) could conceivably be ins.

Ed Curnow might be injured, other than that the only other player I could see going out might be McGovern who continues to show his what he can do too rarely for my liking. I am a fan but I think he might need a wakeup call. So for me JSOS in for McGovern and Kennedy for Ed (if injured) or altenatively McGovern gets a reprieve if Ed is injured.

Are we going to bring in midfielder Jack or key forward Jack ? :donk:

From what I hear, Owies, Cotterall(?) and SOJ were among the best for the NB.

Could give the underperforming FIsher, Cuningham, O'Brien, or McGovern a rest.

Green shoots.

Cunningham and OBrien are just starting to find form. They should be cut the most slack

In fact, regardless of Cunningham's form, if he can stay injury free, I wouldn't drop him at all this year. Needs game time - big time

Kennedy for Ed (if injured)
SOJ for McGovern (SOJ can play mid and forward and depending on the situation, Levi can have stint up forward)
Owies for SPS (freeing up Gibbons to play mid)

Did you see the game? None of them were good enough to tip any of those guys out.

I feel like McKay is just cruising at the moment, and even though Kerr has dropped off a little, I'd like to see him get a game. I'd also like to include Silvagni, and between the two inclusions improve our forward-line pressure enormously. Finally, I'd like to give Walsh two weeks off, even though I know his absence would hurt us.

OUT: McKay (omitted), McGovern (omitted), Walsh (rested)
IN: Kerr, J. Silvagni, Schumacher

Freo's defence is a little vulnerable with Alex Pearce out for the year.
We might be able to exploit them in this area.

if there's a player we can't afford to drop its Cunners. we're slow and tall enough as it is

JSOS and Owies were very good.

I didn't say they weren't good. They both played well but it's VFL footy.
They weren't dominant enough to tip out Cuningham, Fisher or O'Brien. McGovern was poor but I doubt the coaches will drop him.
The one bonus with McGovern is his kicking. I'd back him kicking for goal over any of our players. He's a beautiful kick of the footy.

You left one name out who has been performing worse than all of those that you have listed. Why ?

does jones come back if ready or do they ease him in via the seconds?

if he does come in, based on output it would be mcgovern to go out no?

You have gone and done it now
You just had to say it every other Carlton supporter was biting their lips but no you couldn't help yourself.
McGovern will miss everything now.
Good one BV

Already having nightmares thinking of what Hill x2 and Walters will do to us

one reason why we have to player back shoulder in defence and none of that zone stuff - can't give their players any separation with these guys cutting through us

Jones should be ready after the bye.

Casboult stays.

I decided Newman out. Plowman not far off.

We need some speed from the backline.
Jones inclusion doesn't slow us down.

Plowman played wing for GWS IIRC.
Marchbank played wing for Carlton in 2018.

Maybe they can refresh their running along the wing.

Caan they play big bodied mid?
Maybe next year.
This year we have developed JSOS.

Dow out? Looks to lack confidence, a run in the twos might help. Could Kennedy play his role?

I suspect McGovern and McKay are pretty much undroppable, but SOJ for one of them would add some desperation up forward when the ball hits the ground.
