Mmm. True.

Unless you live in Perth.

Rain forecast in Perth on Sunday.

I like Cottrell a lot based on the 2-3 times I’ve watched him on tv. Reckon he’ll make it.

Gotta love the arrogance of Teague.
3 games in and he is confident enough to rest Cripps so he is fresh for the run in to the finals.

He is one player. If three others rotate through his position, it will throw the Freo defensive midfield setup out of kilter. They have been training all week to counter Cripps and now they have no idea who will take up the cudgel and how they are going to rotate their defensive positioning. Ed will still be there to counter Fyfe.
It's a bummer of a position to be in BUT this is when players make their names.
What happens if SPS gets 35 again?
We recruited Setterfield to be a inside mid but so far he hasn't had much of it because Cripps is always in there.
Kennedy can do it but hasn't had a run at it because f injury.
Nobody has to be Cripps. If Kennedy comes in and gets 20 possessions and Setterfield, SPS and Murphy get a few extra each, there's your 30 possessions covered.
I haven't even mentioned Walsh.
It's Cripps's inspirational leadership that is difficult to replace. I'm guessing Simmo will be Captain. Now there's a man we can look up to.

SPS’s 36 possessions came off the back of about 20 handball receives from Cripps.

What happens if he gets 35 this week?

Nothing happens - it will be his third (maybe fourth) 30plus possession game in his 50 game career.

What were you expecting, views of the Sydney Opera House, herds of wildebeests thundering across the veldt, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon perhaps.

At least all of those. They're more likely than a bit of positive thinking from yourself, sir.

I’m not being negative - my point is that SPS should be 30plus as a matter of course, not an exception.

After a couple of upset results yesterday, I’m feeling very (slightly) confident about our chances against Freo today.
Go Blues!

I don't think it will.
Wet weather usually favours the stronger bodies around the contest and smaller forwards. Neither we really have.
The key will be playing a wet weather game style. Don't overpossess. Minimise hand balling, get it on the boot and press up to keep it locked in when you get it forward. Richmond style footy. Just get it going your way any means possible.
I note Polson didn't play yesterday. Hopefully they haven't bought him over for the wet conditions. In the past his skills have floundered badly in slippery conditions. As have Charlies.

Hey BV, I was actually taking the 'pee-155', trying to stir the possum.
With Cripps out it is hard to see us winning. Fingers crossed.
Cheers

First game since we played GWS I’ve pretty much written us off an hour before first bounce. Not expecting a lot unfortunately. Freo are a bunch of pricks.

Coffee is on. Anyone want some?
Presumably most have ready gone for something more soothing.
Camon blueboys. Surprise us.
Clever tactic
