Tom Morris on FoxFooty just said he's got mail saying SOS will stand down at the end of the year.

Plot twist: The SOS/Lyon Lygon Street lunch was all about signing SOS for Freo, not the other way around?!

Believe the first bit...maybe a stretch for the second bit. Especially if he knows the little rabbit isn't coming...might be the safest move.

Injury prone former draft picks will have to find other clubs now

Fremantle’s current List Manager has only been in the position for 6 months, so either he’s doing a very poor job and is about to be replaced or this is bulltish.

Wouldn't be too surprised if SOS walked out after this season as the rebuild is nearly complete and he doesn't strike me a career list manager.

I think he would be eyeing a more senior role within the AFL landscape, maybe with the AFL directly or a football director role somewhere.

I believe their current list manager is Peter Bell.
No way they would be replacing him after 6 months unless he was leaving due to personal reasons.

More a ship that he has less control of. Remember - they're all control freaks until someone asks 'ok, who's in charge of this shitshow?'

Peter Bell replaced Brad Lloyd as General Manager Football Operations. The Dockers hired Mark Micallef from the Suns as List Manager. Neither are going anywhere. SOS also wouldn't move to Perth. He'd want a cushy job in Melbourne with less criticism than the one he currently has. Something like National Draft Manager, which is currently a position held by David Walls...you know - this David Walls...Son of Robert.

Well, the coach got sacked, so can’t get clicks for articles on that anymore.
The team won, so can’t get clicks about our record breaking failure for a little bit
Walsh was outstanding (again) so can’t get clicks about how he was the wrong choice... so

Out comes the Carlton dart board, oh we hit SOS.

Click, click, click

We must generate a lot of ad revenue for these people.

If we pinch a flag when this team grows up, the darts will turn to:

"So many number 1 picks, so much assistance..."

No opportunity to bash Carlton goes missed.

They mentioned that Bell is looking to step up in another position at Freo.
Would be dirty if SOS does become the Freo list manager and lures Cripps/Fisher there.

He wouldn't have to move to Perth, he stayed in Melbourne when he was GWS list manager.
Apparently most list managers are based in Melbourne.

Having 3 sons on the list makes the position untenable IMO. Murph might take over as list manager.

I suspect Cripps cares more about winning a flag than he does about living in Perth.
If we show improvement over the next 12-18 months he will stay.
He won’t be joining Fyfe, he will effectively be replacing him.
