Murphy still clearly in best 22. Not overtaken by Jack yet.
Performance has been clouded by injury periodically in the last 12-18 months, but is creative and aware when he is “on”.
Stuck with the club through “thin and thinner” . Hasn’t sought dollars and premiership medals elsewhere.
Can’t see why he wouldn’t be included.
Who to exclude is a different matter altogether. Loved Jack ‘s game last week even though stats weren’t great.

Well said. Murphy has his flaws but he’s still a very good player at his best and solid at worst and we’re still crying out for experience. One win doesn’t change that. It really amazes me how quick we are to cast aside a guy who has been loyal to the club for 13 years. He is easily in our best 22 even though he frustrates us all at times

At least it’s Murphy for Jack, instead of Fasolo for Polson.

That’s positive!

So these are our three guys hey? Good luck to them.. I hope they have a good game.

How is the free kick differential going? Are Carlton still stone cold motherless last?

Hope Murphy doesn't get targeted by an oaf of a thug who purposely tried to inflict pain and injury on someone much smaller than him and clearly is one of the blues' best.

All positives re SOSOS...

In fact, Davenport says that Jack has grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

She's not bad ... but I digress, (and in this day and age am possibly risking some sort of general ban from everything).

If this was supposed to be any sort of reasoned assessment then they should take up selling real estate: "size is quite unique" (ie undersized for a forward).

I'll say one thing about Silvagni J - he's got the "I'm busting a gut" face well and truly worked out. Take a look at how he just looks to be trying soooo hard in every clip. Including the one where he's doing a slow jog at training. I like him as a player more than I did last year, but I'm still not convinced he's going make it. Good decision.

I'm picturing something like him being bumped off the ball within the first 5 minutes and then taking no further part in the match.

At least they don't have another Mumford. His tactics border on violence and they are directed towards those much smaller than him.

So you think he has the Nick Stevens thing going on.

But Jack actually tries.

We could do with a Nick Stevens.

Without the family violence.

Geez I hope we can backup with another win this weekend. I hope the group can show some steel.

That is the big challenge.
It has been a few years since we won two games in a row.

J Silvagni dropped for Murphy

Good decision

why ?

Because our forward line is a small forward's graveyard due to a shit game-plan. Good luck to anyone who goes there and Murph is not a like for like replacement, so someone else will have to go to the graveyard. Good luck to them. Possibly send Dow there - he only gets 13 possessions as a midfielder in a winning team. Good mark, ruthless tackler, great kick for goal.

Are you Titus O'Rielly's comedy writer? Actually, if you are, I wouldn't admit to it

I think that you may have missed the sarcasm

Cheers

The fact that you felt that you had to spell that out to me is an even greater indictment

All good. They’ll both play in a Carlton Premiership one day. Murph is unlikely to do that

Was a typo. Corrected now, Jack's the emergency.

Of course it was, well, that's what I believe

it's good to see that Jack is not on the block. Obviously a sign he has lifted his pressure and support acts even though he isnt a prolific position getter or goal kicker. For many of us at the start of the year he (along with LOB) would have been the player most likely to have not made the cut in any discussion about who to drop.
Just good to see his improvement even when the team has struggled.

so much for that...

I think it could just be for team balance this week. Bulldogs are a running team
