It is recurring nightmare.

I stopped paying much attention to footy during the dregs of the Malthouse era. This is far, far sadder. I only listen on the radio while I'm doing something else. Even then I tune out when I can sense we haven't come to play. And that is pretty much every round.

Our games are dull and predictable. If you can't entertain you're finished.

I was in the sugar coaters corner until the loss to St.kilda.
Bolton’s skating on some very thin ice at the moment.
I believe he’s 99% out the door at this stage.
We have a spine to work with minus a ruck.
We’ve lost too many winnable games this year.
We need a big bodied mid to protect Cripps and share the load otherwise it’ll be Judd all over again

Charlie Curnow was recruited as a big bodied mid.
Everyone has fallen in lovewith Charlie as a forward and some even suggest we keep him out of the midfield to avoid injury.

Then there's Jack who volved as a good big bodied mid in the VFL and was welcomed back to the seniors to play anywhere but...
Jack was in the top 5 runners during the preseason.

SOS got Kennedy from GWS as a big bodied mid. Bombers and Hawks we in the market for him at the time, and SOS won that.
No one knew he was going to injure his ankle in round 1 last year and carry that injury for the year.
Kennedy has failed to show hy he was worth trading for.

SOS was also after Steele and Hopman. Wish we got Hopman, and still do.

Setterfield was the most recent acquisiton. Its his first year post ACL, let alone having played less than 10 games of AFL, so we shouldn't be expecting too much from him this year

The MC and coach have choices, but they choose to leave it all to Cripps to feed the ball out.
That's putting all your eggs in one basket IMO.

Bondi, I agree with your comments asking why we haven't played Charlie on the ball. Especially when we were playing too many tall forwards. Also cannot fathom why we persist with trying to make Ed Curnow a small defensive forward when he is one of the best run-with on-ballers. Ed has been kept on the forward line in games where opposition mids were running amok. Both Curnows on the ball would provide the strong body support that Cripps needs.

We seem to only make strategy decisions out of desperation. An example is playing Casboult as a key back. This was suggested preseason but only came about when we ran out of key backmen after the Jones injury. When Liam returns. I think it still worth persisting with Casboult as the 2nd key back, freeing up Weitering and Marchbank who are good intercept players.

Another comment on Charlie.... last year he was close to our best player. This year not so prolific - so why keep him deep on the forward line for long periods in a game when we are not getting the ball past centre. He probably had those few average games because he was getting frostbite down forward without the ball coming near him.

Is it too late for us to be moved to Gold Coast?
