We could be zip and 5. Then we’d really be in deep Scheisse. :banghead:

I know this is the misery guts thread but we could also have beaten Melb and been 3-2.
We could also have played four quarters against Richmond and StK and had a percentage of 110+
That puts is about 5th.

Should have beaten Melb and StK

We wouldve lost to Geel if we'd beaten Melb the week before

Either way, we f%^&* well should've been 3-2

Wet weather + west coast's bigger bodies

We're gonna get thrashed

That's the way I see the wet weather effect.... I hope I'm wrong

The team that adapts tactically will have the early advantage. Minimise possession, direct play, get it forward and lock it in.
We've shown an ability to adapt previously. Hopefully we do again.

Fair call however I'd say they are way more skilled and in the dry their midfield would deliver the ball to their forwards on a silver platter. Our moderate midfield do not defend as well.

Either way they are a very even side and well drilled.

I think the rain may even it up more, here's hoping

As a Melbournian this year really sucks.
As a Carlton supporter this year really sucks.
When will it end?

I agree Kezza. My daughter was so excited to have the chance to see Eddie in a Carlton jumper. I suspect he wont be there when we get the chance to return to games.

I was really looking forward to see him play too.
I am with you, can't see him being there next year or when we can finally get to go the footy again.

Hasn't he signed a 1 year extension?

I don't know, have you seen that somewhere?
I would love to see him play for Carlton again before he retires.
Apparently he will still be at Carlton next year, if not as a player then as a coach/development role.

Not yet.

In the media this week that a deal is being discussed between his manager and the club.

What happens IF we get Papley?

Answer is, if Eddie is signed up before the Trade, then he stays...but wont feature in the seniors too much I expect.

I don't get it, when you step back and look at our progress, where we have come from, what were our reasonable expectations this year?

I admit I thought making the 8 was a realistic target earlier on in the year, but being honest with myself it would have been a huge ask taking everything into consideration.

The last 2 weeks we have fallen over (and hawthorn). But we should have beaten teams that will finish in the top 8, that in itself is progress. We aren't whipping boys anymore and have a solid plan 'A', just need to be more versatile.

The panic relating to our list is a little crazy. We are a work in progress.

Give us another pre-season, the return of several (4?) injured players that would get picked every week and see how we go.

I'm in Yucatan, Mexico, mate. We have a curfew between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.
I can't get beer unless it's home delivered.

Tell me about it.

This place where I live is a bit of a safe haven in Mexico.
Rumour has it that the drug cartel honchos send their families to live here and send their kids to school here and it is 'out of bounds' to conduct business here.
As a result, it is probably safer than anywhere in the USA so we have our fair share of Yanks here spouting on about how great Trump is and now much better the USA is now they don't have a ni**er in the white house. Of course they don't want to live there...
It has given me an insight into why the Mexicans hate gringos so much but they love Canadians and go oooh when I tell them I am from Australia.
I overheard my across-the-road neighbour defending me one day.
"He isn't a gringo, he's Australian".
"Oooh!"

It’s nice your neighbour knew the difference between Austria and Australia, the level of education in Mexico is obviously much better than the USA....

As they say in the USA,
"'Your' so right."
The standard of education in Mexico is actually very high.
