Good luck Blueboys.

Rest any sore players.
The following match against St Kilda is winnable and hence much more important.

Jones might need another week, but if he’s good to go presumably he comes straight in for....Casboult? On form over the last couple of weeks, you’d pick Casboult ahead of Harry, but I think getting AFL games into Harry is important.

Can Jones play 2nd ruck from defence as Casboult did yesterday?

Absolutely agree. It's great we came properly prepared this week. But 2 honourable losses to good teams, followed by a pathetic effort against a not-so-good team cannot be allowed. We need to give extra priority in our preparation for the games where we can actually win. It's now a free agent's league. And if we want to have any chance of attracting free agents (and staving off a club implosion), we need to get some wins this year.

Tough ask and against the Giants who have a tall team and tall forward line I'd say not. On this week's showing someone will be stiff to be dropped, assuming no injuries, but if Jones is fit ti go he comes straight in (now there's a sentence that for a long time I'd never have dreamt of writing ...).

So who? Tough to drop a small defender, if we need to keep Casboult as second ruck then it is either a small - and we are over tall already even in my view against these guys, or a KP or 3rd tall type. Could make a case for a few to be the unlucky one but for mine Plowman's from dip in the last 2 weeks may have come at the wrong time and he might be the one to go. Of course he may be injured in any event which might make the decision for the MC.

I'd love it if GWS brought their current efforts to us next week.

More likely they'll get a rocket and come out pissed off.

A very talented team on the rebound. Not ideal. Would be a huge result to win this game.

We’ve at least put some perceived pressure on GWS, they no they will have to turn up next week to beat us and will not be able to “phone it in”.

Yes we will build a much better winning culture by starting a game with an under strength team with a plan to save ourself for the following week.
That’s exactly our problem.
We can beat them. Hawks just did. But we can’t if we start the game knowing we can’t or shouldn’t.

Can Jones play 2nd ruck from defence as Casboult did yesterday?

I have been suggesting this for a year. he is quick, has a great leap and can run out games.
At the moment, he probably plays 90% game time as FB. The disadvantage of rucking him from FB is that his time on ground would probably have to be reduced to low 80%.
Personally, I think it's worth a try.
And yes, Levi is playing pretty well atm, despite making the odd howler but they all do that. His are just more obvious for some reason.
