Rant time.

This club is so @#$%&! weak.

Time and time again when it's time to take a stand or make a statement we take the coward's way out by doing nothing.

And it starts from the top.

Perfect opportunity to drop Murphy and make a statement - a strong club like Hawthorn has just dropped a 4 time premiership player and former captain. We take the coward's way out by letting it slide as business as usual.

Fat Eddie comes out and slags the club during the week including the bloke that has put up with this shit the most out of all of us and fronted every week in front of the journalists, normally with a smile on his face. Do we back him by saying anything, anything at all for all the shit he has copped? No, we take the coward's way out because apparently we don't want to give it any oxygen. Wonder if Eddie would've taken the same approach if the shoe was on the other foot.

Worse, Judd fronts up on Triple M as our football director and says "oh no Eddie is a good bloke, media are just jealous and insecure. I am totally cool with it all, he can say whatever". WHY could he not stay silent? Why does he have to protect "good blokes" when he has just slagged off your coach? Again, we took the coward's way for fear of upsetting the apple cart.

No wonder our players have no confidence on the field, the whole joint seems like mummy's boys too fearful of hurting anyone. Until we become a strong club with strong leaders who are standing up for ourselves on and off the field, we are going nowhere. President nowhere to be seen, CEO no where to be see, football director wants to be everyone's mate.

This is probably a completely unjustified rant but 3 times this week after a pathetic performance over the week and I'm sick of it. Have some balls Carlton. Wouldn't be surprised if we come out and get rolled by 10 goals now.

I......can't disagree with any of this

Judd is an intelligent ibloke
Unfortunately he is also a “yes” man
Doesn’t want to offend anyone

I am looking forward to it.

You may not want to see Kennedy play, after you see him play.

i thought he was ok in the back end of the season last year, how has he been going in the 2's?

I have a really good feeling about this afternoon’s game.
Maybe it’s just Morning Glory

BOM's predicting the rain to hold off today.

I don't think this helps or hinders us TBH.

The midfield battle will be huge. Can Kreuzer see the game out? He plays well against Grundy.
Will Pendles play tight on Cripps at the stoppages like he has the past couple of encounters? If so, can Cripps exert some influence? That's the match up that could decide the game.
I know Murphy has copped a lot of criticism here (mostly warranted) but I still believe he could be a high quality small forward for us. He has kicked 2 of the better stoppages goals for us this year. We need one of the young mids to step up and take the wing position so it releases Murphy. O'Brien has had his chances but he's still a bit off the pace.
Hopefully Setterfield gets a run at it. He impresses me with his ability to do the basics really well. He just needs to have a bit more impact. Dow v Treloar was interesting last year. Treloar got him offensively but Dow motored away from the stoppages well a couple of times. Treloar doesn't run too hard defensively. I'm tipping Dow to have a strong impact today with the extra pre-season under his belt.

Who will play as the extra tall defender if required? Levi to Reid could suit but I don't believe the second ruck can effectively play out of defence.

Charlie on Moore. That's the match up that will have the medias attention. Hopefully Charlie is fit and puts in a huge one. If he can occupy Moore and McGovern can be dangerous, it will allow McKay one on one against Roughead. McKay should torch him if he's on his game. Drag Langdon up the ground and use his opponent entering 50 and their defence should struggle. As long as we isolate the match ups that suit us.

There may be the odd light shower but it looks okay this morning.
The ground will be a bit heavy but with good drainage at the MCG should be a good surface.
Just the thought of another belting makes me feel sick.
I hope they turn up today, we do.

I'm worried about their small/medium forwards.
I can't see a plausible way for us to contain them.
Their midfield is elite. We cannot starve opportunities.
It's going to be one hell of a defensive effort to get this game going down to the wire.

No doubt they will be switched on and give a great effort.
As to what happens...
Collingwood are 2nd and we are last.
If we can keep from a blowout or do even better, that is a real credit to the boys. Simmo, Newman still out.
Let's see.
Go blues.

Collingwood's delivery into 50 is first class. With 3 of our regular defenders missing, I think our structure's taken too much of a hit for us to win

Hope we make a good game of it though.

A drink before the game sounds good.
Oh wait, Collingwood are using our room so there isn't one for me to go to.

Just heading off now. Fingers crossed.
