[quote="AGRO"]It’s all well and good blaming the umpires.

I remember the days back in the 80’s where Umpire Ian Robinson used to absolutely torch us ....... but we still used to win anyway.

Except for that Neale Daniher game at Princes Park in 1981 when he paid a free kick against Fitzpatrick for time wasting.

Spot on Agro.............the dirty dog umpired the '73 GF and spoon fed the Tigers.

spoke to quite a few opposition fans throughout the course of today. begrudgingly from them, general consensus is "we're coming, fast".

Why wasn't that just called 'play on'?

Is 'play on' in that situation, only a more recent rule?

Things were different back in those days. We would win a lot more games than we lost, and we’d win Premierships

Strange, nobody's ever been impressed when I've said it.

They’re clearly more excited than we are

She said I came too soon but it was her who came too late.

Someone at work just said to me that the umpire signalled game over after the mark, is this correct?

Watched a replay of the game, Gunston and Wingard should get logie awards for their acting, both went down as if they were shot. Both got frees and I think Gunston received a 50m penalty. Both got up pretty quick when they received their free kicks and 50m penalty.

They received two very late free kicks, play was allowed to continue and then all of a sudden the whistle was blown giving them a free kick.

Very strange umpiring.

No injuries and we would have won this one.

Completely agree. The greasy conditions after halftime didn't help either. Given our tall side and injured runners.

So is this a realistic attempt to mark? Or to take out a defender?
