Setterfield is a must to return.

About time Kennedy given a go.

And Phillips for Kreuzer.

C. Curnow returns via the VFL to make a point. If not Levi is dropped.

Not exactly like for like but E Curnow plays back as sweeper with Daisy. Better position for him as a defensive player than a small forward anyway.

We have developing defenders in the VFL who are playing to the same defensive system as the AFL.
At least 1, if not 2 of them should come in. The days of moving players to fill holes in the backline are gone hopefully.

We have two running defenders in Simpson and Newman out. Both Stocker and Williamson are supposedly underdone. If the fitness staff say one or both can get through a full game of AFL footy, fair enough.

Do we have any others? Certainly not Garlett.

Our luck in a nutshell.

Place where Norf can most dominate us - Ruck.

So kiss your #1 ruckman goodbye.

Williamson has done a solid training block and is fit to resume. Dale Amos has already said his fitness is not an issue.
Stocker has already been an emergency and has more football under his belt since then. I'd select either of them before moving Ed Curnow into defence.
Garlett? Forget it.

My changes would be:

Out
-Kreuzer
-Simpson
-Newman
-Caboult (team balance. I think we used him as a sole ruckman in a match last year which ended in tears)

In
-Phillips (need a proper ruckman to compete against Goldstein)
-Charlie
-2 of Stocker, Williamson or Setterfield.
Stocker has previously been named an emergency and has since impressed at VFL level so I expect he will get a call up. Hard to tell whether the MC would prefer Willo or Setters. Gee I hope they don't pick Garlett or Polson.

I think we have to pick a proper half back flanker to replace the two outs. Garrett was emergency last week, so I guess it will be him.

We should all hope against all hope that this game isn’t like our Gold Coast Rd 2 game last year- us seemingly on the improve against ‘weak’ opposition. Signs are ominous , particularly without Kruez (who was out last year v GC too).

I suspect Garlett was emergency because they don't care if he misses games.
I doubt he's in their plans past this year.

A bit early for that call, unless youve heard it from good sources.

He was pretty good in JLT and the intra praccy games I saw.
That was 6-9 weeks ago IIRC.

I'm not a huge fan

Garlett was trialled as defender in JLT & round 1 & 2
Then played small forward AFAIK in vfl when dropped
We’re not helping him despite his bad form

I agree and I like the fact we play the same / similar game plan in the seniors and NBs.
I also like the fact that we are developing for role / position, a good supporting cast.

Stocker Williamson definetely for backline with their good kicking ....dunno about Schumaker.

...and Charlie to play in the seniors if fit, he's a class act; a cut above the rest....let alone the fact he will be playing with his brother in his 150th game milestone. Banner and all.

You'd have to be a prick to disregard the power of Bloodlines boom boom.

IMO, and history tells us Charlie could get us over the line in this game. He can play forward midfield and backline.

The way people are carrying on around here it almost sounds as if the ins may outweigh the outs.

A bit of optimism never went astray.

It's nice to have some good ins to replace good outs. We have become so unfamiliar with that

I agree with everybody.
Lots of good suggestions and reasoned choices.
We have two injured HBFers and two ready in the NBs No brainer.
Phillips for Kreuzer
Levi played OK but not as well as the previous week. If he were to go for Charlie, that's fine by me
Setterfield should come back for..... maybe LOB. I doubt SPS was concussed. It's not as if he was kicked in the head by a bull.

No honourable losses allowed this week.
North are much worse than we are and if they beat us we drop a place. This is a real chance to get some confidence for a 10-12 place finish, which woulf\d be a good result from here. We are only 1 game and percentage from the outskirts of the 8!

That just shows how people can see things differently. I personally thought he was rubbish.
Turned it over continually. Caught ball watching too often. Hence his demotion. He has the ability IMHO but he doesn't have the desire.
In saying that, I'm sure we'd both like to see him turn his form around and become a solid contributor. The ball's in his court with plenty of games left in the season

bolton could easily use walsh in the running half back role of Simmo, and put setterfield onto the ball. didn't walsh start the first 2 games in the backs?

then one of schumaker or stocker into the newman role for the like for like replacement.

ruck is where we're screwed. phillips isn't up to it and lobbe is miles off it. they don't even have a timeline for when the king will be back ...

Along with the changes already posted, I would send the players a message.

Drop Murphy, whose "effort" last game was putrid, for Setterfield.

Adelaide dropped Gibbs for the same reason.

Hmmm....

might be day for a dirty ruck...!

Phillips should just smash every ball...
no need for finesse...as long as North
don't get clean access...!

having said that...i'm sitting in my poncho
with socks and sandals...charnces are i
have no idea...!

clearly...!

kindest regards tommi
