True. But he didn't hurt them with possessions going the other way.
Good coaching move.

He was floundering in the first half.
Floundering all game last week against the Swans.

I'm a fan ... thought Id let fellow posters my concerns...he will be a beauty.

Maybe its right to give him the same opportunity as other fledlings...put games into them...at the highest level.

Teams should be out soon.

Gosh I hope Kreuzer Curnow Jack and Kennedy are available for selection.

I believe Gov isn't a concern after he was given the all clear on the hamstring

I don't think Gibbons and Polson have done enough to hold a spot in the 22.

I prefer Garlett forward than those 2 TBH. Garlett has speed and a much classier player.

Jack Silvagni was the most improved in the preseason imo and deserves to be in the 22 before Gibbons, Polson and Setters, and Garlett, so I'd like to see him in.

Have been biting my tongue but Setters hasn't set the world on fire other than his 2nd half tagging job where he not only quieten Rockliff but also nullified his own game too.

I know Setters has only played 5 AFL games, but his job is contested ball and should be winning possessions, but he seems to be getting lost with some of the criticism. He needs to step up, or if selectors are thinking the same, bring in Kennedy for Setters.

Fingers crossed there is a surprise selection with Kreuzer and Charlie being selected. I'm hoping Kreuzer can ruck 0% game time. 3 months since his minor op. If they do come in it will be for Lobbe and casboult imo.

I'm pretty sure Gov plays and only went of for precautionary reasons. His back seized up not his hamstring.

Blues have to win this one and should if the abovementioned changes happen.

I expect to see more poise from the Blues this week.

I expect them to win. They should have won last week.

They should have won the round 1 and 2 game too but they didnt

Do you think they will win...as opposed to expect them to win?

What do you see as our strengths against their weaknesses?
ie where do you think we will win this.

The ruck with Grundy,\ is where it all starts with them.
If we can shark those hit outs and get a run with the ball...our way not sideways....we can win.

So neither Phillips or Kreuzer fit to play - Lobbe will need to improve this week.

McKay, McGovern and Casboult all named in the starting 18 so if Charlie is fit to play we will probably be too tall.

I think Stocker will get his chance soon but not this week.

We'll need to rove to their guy. Do we keep Gibbons but play him on the ball a bit to get him into the game ? Jak probably deserves to get a game, and Crippa needs some in and under help. So, assuming that Charlie isn't quite ready, and Stocker may have been named to give him a good message and silence the draft critics at the same time.

I'd go Newman, Gibbons, Jak and Kennedy. If we play LOB, Gibbo misses.

Very tough game to win against the rampant Coasters.

If we go tall against pace. it is imperative that we maintain control of the football, which has proved impossible so far.
I have always been a believer in tall forwards but they have to have reasonable delivery and know when to go and when not to. It frustrates me to see Harry grabbing everything up field and then not getting a run at the ball when he is forward. It also frustrates me to watch Harry and Charlie going for the same ball at the top of the square.

We have to take our chances in front of goal when those marks come. Harry Vallance once famously said words to the effect of:

"It's important to maintain a constant kicking action regardless of where you are with regards to the goal. There is nothing more frustrating for those up the field to see you miss an easy shot after they have worked to get it to you."

I'm stunned that stocker is making the trip up. last bit of press about him, was that his endurance is a long way off, and that was with him playing off a halfback flank and not even in the middle.

but shit ... with russell here, nothing that bloke does should surprise

Phillips is not on the extended bench so he won't be playing.

Seriously concerned that we have to go with Lobbe again who is our 4th pick ruck.

This won’t help our cause.

Setterfield has been selected to start in the middle. Just goes to show the MC sees the same as you 2 posters and I was a bit harsh on him.

Lobbe in the ruck is a worry against Witts. He will have to jump into Witts and stick close around the ground.

Cripps (195) Setterfield (191 Curnow (182) have a bit of size and strength to win the clearances.

SPS and Fisher running in from the wings and its a good midfield.

I expect Walshy to run all day, and hopefully, hopefully the other running machine in OBrien can not only do the running but get some linking going on. OBrien needs to show he belongs at this level.

I hope Jack Silvagni (191) gets the nod. His frame in the midfield would continue to give us strength in the packs an he can run all day too.

Harry Gov to be so important to us.

IF Charlie is set to go, we look dangerous again with plenty of marking targets.

I can't see Stocker given the nod ahead of Silvagni. Kennedy must be close.

Fingers crossed Charlie is fit to continue season 2019.

Come on Blues.
