Quite a damning statistic "Richmond was able to move the ball more effectively scoring 54-7 from defensive midfield chains" Too often the ball was swept out of the forward line and went straight inside Richmond's forward 50. Very good games from Weitering, Cripps, Newman, Setterfield, Walsh, Jones. A Jarrad Waite style of game from C Curnow. |

Just got home from the game: Newman can play... will be very handy this year, and should partner up well with Doc when he's back. C Curnow had an absolute stinker. Walsh looked a bit out of sorts early but to his credit he worked his way into it and showed some good glimpses. Good size and will be very, very good! I'm concerned about Paddy Dow ... looked a few steps behind on a number of occasions and kicking let him down (again) SPS unsighted... needs to run more Did Garlett even play? Fisher's a little terrier - brought down Martin a few times which is hard to do Setterfield will be excellent - he's a good size! Bit quieter from Cunningham than had hoped Congratulations to Murph, but I think he's cooked. Remember: Richmond is a top 4 side, and just picked up Lynch! We had a lot of kids out there and have the makings of a very, very good side... develop them well and anything can happen. |

Just home from the game. We gave them a 5 goal start and lost by 5 goals. Good signs in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. The margin was not a true reflection of the game, we played better than them for at least half of it. Cripps is a super star. Good game by Walsh after a slow start, took him a quarter to get the pace of the game. Dow and Cuningham were good. What is going on with Charlie? He was putrid in the 2nd JLT game and continued on tonight. Not too disappointed as it was pretty much as I expected. Saw Juddy after the game. |

Walsh, Setterfield and Newman all had superb debuts. Really impressed with the improvement in Cuningham and Dow. Two really good quarters, two awful quarters. Plenty of good signs and plenty to work on. |

SPS troubles me, not quick and not clean either. Newman great Walsh will be great Harry v good Fish v good Cripps Super Star! Big ask tonight against probably the best team in the comp. Showed good heart after blowing the start. |

Nearly had them ...... then Rance going down stopped our momentum ![]() Where was Charlie tonight .... mate please stop reading your own publicity. Learn from the disaster that was tonight. Kudos to Cripps, Newman, Weiters and Harry and a couple of others |

Gave away 5 goal start and lost by 5 goals no surprise Charlie fasolo gibbons didn't give us much Jones newman Weiters Cripps very good Setterfield cunnningham fish Dow H all good The ease which it came out of our forward line diabolical Usual slow start cost us 4th quarter insipid Dropped chest marks in the forward line McGovern canners gibbons Ball handling fumble and disjointed Umpiring in first quarter you had to see it to believe it The non decision when Newman caught the Richmond guy running into open goal breath takingly bad |

Very good games from Weitering, Cripps, Newman, Setterfield, Walsh, Jones. Just back from the game. Well actually just stepped in the cab. They simply ran forward harder and smarter than us. They are a very good football side the Tigers. I agree Weitering, Newman and Jones had very good games but that makes the above stats/facts interesting. Happy to persevere for a few weeks but Gartlett in defence isn’t great so far. He didn’t do anything silly but his man ran off him too easily. I loved Sam Walsh but his man was playing NOWHERE near him. No respect yet but they will be forced to respect him soon enough. Fish was amazing. So busy. Caught Dusty more than once. I’ve been a massive Murphy critic in the past but I think he will do some good things on the outside this season. I was impressed by him for the first time tonight in a long time. SPS has improved. Dow was good but you just knew he was going to fluff that important set shot. Good game. It felt more competitive than the scoreboard shows. GO BLUES!!! |
