Set shots in the last cost us victory.
Happy we fought out the last quarter.

I normally don't care about commentators and I'm not the biggest Philips fan but flower me dead, you would think Grundy was the only player out in the ground. Sauce was terrific I thought, given what he was up against, don't think he could've done more and I reckon the coaches will give him a bit more recognition than the commentators did.

Phillips has had a fair output but Grundy has dominated the ruck, especially the centre bounces.
Put Kreuzer into this team instead of Phillips and he wold really struggle.

I’m truly at a loss as to how we nearly won that.

Hopefully it’s a sign of our worst actually getting better.

Until we stop bombing it long to the top of the square, our forwards will struggle.

McGovern just took possession on the wing, ignored Cunningham running past him into space and kicked it long to a contest that resulted in a Collingwood clearance.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.
But typical.

They did ok and probably should have won it in the end just poor conversion killed them
Newman and Gibbons a bit of a reality check.

Would have been great to see Walsh kick the sealer he is a seriously good player.

Plowman 3 turn overs for 3 goals his disposal by foot woeful.

I thought Charlie was poor
Harry was good.
McGovern looking like Casboult MK11

Jones and Weiters were solid

Ed would have been better sitting on Treloar as he was by far and away the best out there

Apart from that why not use the other 2 on bench

SPS and Cuningham are about to step up in a big way.

Dow too, he's improved his ability to run games out better than I thought he would in one pre-season.

Garlett is looking pretty settled at half back now. Pretty busy today.

McGovern ran the game out better than I expected. Reckon it'll click for him soon.

Setterfield is going way better than I expected at this stage. I reckon he's gonna get us excited this season.

How they managed to stay in it when they played so poorly is a miracle.
Good on them for hanging in and but for a couple of misses at the death might have snatched a win.
Collingwood will have to leave out about four of those midfielders in the real thing.
Phillips got on top of Grundy after the corky and it made a difference to the cleanness of the clearances and from the centre.
The fact we have no serious injuries from the series is a huge bonus.
Setterfield making it through must be great for his confidence.
Garlett had a better game.
SPS got a lot of it but he annoys me with his first instinct to look sideways or backwards. That will come.
Enough has been said about the crap forward performance.
Cunningham came in and out of it. He could have a breakout season.

We will know soon enough how much improvement there is in the team. I doubt very much BB has shown his hand. W saw it last year when we jumped Richmond in the first and couldn't hang on after we lost some key players.

I think we will surprise a few teams this season if they dare to take us lightly.
