Just watched 12 minutes of Brendon Bolton on the official Carlton website, seems genuinely excited. Hope for everyone that we're competitive against the Tiges  .

Lynch is playing.

Could work in our favour. They’ve built their game around manic, electric small forwards. This will take some adjustment and he hasn’t played for a long time.

Orrrrrrrr he could kick 10.

Hoping for the former

Rather Lynch than Balta. I sensed a Moran award with Balta playing.

Yeahhh, but lynch has destroyed us so many times there ought to be a Lynch award

Picked it like a nose.

They have gone with both Lynch and Balta on top of Riewoldt.

That is a significant departure from the zippy forward setup that won them a premiership. It also doesn't target our biggest weaknesses which are imo our small defenders.

Reckon the margin just swung back majorly in our favour.

Richmond by 34 points.

This game could be closer than many expect. We've got rid of most of the B Grade footballers and this particular 20 odd players have had a few games together now so will slowly be building some chemistry. Only inexperience will hurt us.

Too many debutants for us, will need time to gel

A win doesn't seem likely, but this will set the tone for the year - we need to go down fighting, right until the final siren. No let off

Cmon blues

This team can win.

We may have a lot of debutants but Richmond have 3 talls included when they have been playing with 1 in their successful period (albeit only 2 years).

They will continue their Kamikase push forward, shot gun style, but that's a thing of the past...which worked.

I am not afraid as I expect our kids are not.
Its the young Blues time to shine in front of a nation and 90000 paid up fans at the G.

Come on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't like Ed as a pressure forward, don't rate Garlett off the backline, apart from that not bad.

In fact swap them

I do not think Jack Silvagni is in our best 22 right now. But I'm surprised he's not named in Emergencies. Is he injured?

If getting the selections right for Round 1 is a sign we're getting more things right these days, then we're getting more things right. The 22 selected is spot on.

Ed won't line up there. He will run around with Cotchin all night. Don't like Garlett as a defender, but hope he proves me wrong.
