He'd be the slowest player in the AFL?

Nah, not even close.

Well spotted Galty.

I was going to say the same but let it go. No pint.

He has earned another chance and had to work for it, he's hungry... unlike the players we tend pick up, and he's a pure mid. I could name 10 players we picked up straight out of the AFL who wouldn't come close to winning a Magarey medal.

That because it's a bit of a disingenuous extrapolation of my original points.

Just changing tack why haven't the club disciplined Fasolo yet

Club is disingenuous in the extreme if it thinks that everyone doesn't know the true story

Club needs to act decisively and quickly particularly after Bugg retirement to take back the momentum

Video apology looked amateur hour and shallow

Not entirely at fault but news coming out of PP this summer with plethora of injuries Faz bender Bugg retirement doesn't really fill supporters with confidence

Nothing over the summer would encourage the non committed to sign on as members -hope that is not the case because we need everything going for us before we hit the season proper

All good points which need to be addressed, we are treading water; from the outside at least. Need something positive, like giving a contract to Gibbons, and then Grigg.
If nothing else we have to improve the NB midfield because it was diabolical last year - no depth, injuries. A key part of our seniors getting better is the NB's getting better I believe, getting smashed in the middle every week in 2's in hurting the development of the players. Those two would hold their own in the seniors too if called upon.
They are more a lot more capable replacements than what we had; if called upon for seniors.

I'd take a Kane Lambert over any GWS steak knives we've received.

Good point, and I agree with steak and knives types like Sumner, Whiley and Palmer.
Bugg was poached by Melbourne.
You say 10 players we picked up since when? Since Grigg was delisted? Which 10?

The point here is who would you take from Bugg and Grigg.
If he had taken Grigg, he'd still be on our list.

I don't know why we would have to take Grigg TBH.
I wanted us to look at him after his Magarey Medal, but I could see his lack of pace was why every club didn't take the punt.
Have to remember he was delisted a few years back, and may not be AFL standard.

I guess he'd add depth and help out the NB's just as Graham did.
Its fair to say that Grigg's un and spread would be on par with Graham.
Grigg a much better kick.

I missed opportunity for The Blues.

We are all shitty about missing out on him.

Even with the "steak and knives" GWS players (and I can only think of 3), we could still have taken Lambert, but didn't.

Gotta move on.

I'd rather select Fisher from the NBs than Grigg. I might be wrong.

I like Grigg, but I don't think his non selection is the end of he world.
Missing out Lambert from under our noses proved that the MC had NFI a few years back, but we already know that.

Keep up the passion smithy.

Yeah wouldn't be upset at taking Fisher, both of them would be even better along with Gibbons; would see us with an excellent NB's midfield and much better equipped to cover senior midfield injuries.
Everyone seems to think we're covered for mids, we aren't

Not sure about this obsession with speed that seems so prevalent in everybody's mind nowadays.
In the history of the sport top end speed has probably never been less important due to the congestion.
Acceleration ,evasiveness, strength and endurance are much more important.
I'll take speed of mind ,clean hands and anticipation as attributes over flat out speed any day.
It's desirable but it isn't what should be at the forefront of thinking. More so icing on the cake.
I'd point to Hawthorns midfield from 2008- 2014, not many speedsters in that midfield lineup.
With the exception of Akermanis Brisbane's fab four wasn't quick.
I'f we are going to pass over players because they aren't 2.90 then get ready to miss out on a lot of good players, like Mitchell's and Rockliff's.

My dad once told me that the famous St Pat's coach, W.T. O'Malley used to say that nobody could run as fast as the ball could travel through the air. (grasshopper)

Speed is going to be even more important with the new 6, 6, 6 rule.

One day Community service for the whole team for Fasolo's drunken behaviour that resulted in a broken arm....whilst we are paying him.

He should be suspended by the club for a few weeks to train on his own, and a round 1 suspension from AFL.
