Even Jacobs or Betts for the GWS fourth rounder pick would be satisfactory for me. The duration of the Gibbs deal is fairly offputting, but perhaps worth it if it meant our second rounder back.

Hawks may need enticing to take Jenkins too, both from a Patton perspective and needing the points for Maginness.

I would trade him and steak knives, maybe Kerr who helps them with their tall forward problem as well.for Zac Jones. Sydney need talls and they have plenty of mid-sizd players at their disposal.

He’s an unrestricted free agent I’m pretty sure. We would be at the mercy of the AFLs secret equation that got Geelong pick 19 (from memory, at least something close to this pick) for Motlop but yet nothing for Waite who went on to play good footy. Not sure what Motlop has done.

It has taken over 10 years for Levi to become a good consistent player. And he doesn't get injured, much.

Why trade him. We would be in trouble at the moment without him.

Develop from within unless the offer is too good to refuse.

I’m not for letting Casboult leave. I also don’t think he will.

But I can see a scenario where he would. Last year we offered him one year. If he got a 3 year deal from someone this year on good money, why wouldn’t he take the money and security? We could have done that last year and we didn’t. We offered him for trade and gave him the minimum. It wasn’t the wrong decision at the time but fair play to Casboult, he has earnt a payday not many would have seen coming.

Levi is a free agent, no trade will get done.
If he leaves we get any compo the AFL gives us (if we get any).

Stop talking Levi . If you hear him talk he loves the Blues. And we'd be mad to not love him now. Current form he's in our top half dozen.

He can opt for a trade like Judd did.
He could have walked to us but he didn't.

How could Judd have walked to us?
Richmond finished on the bottom of the ladder that year.

We have a plethora of excellent young key position talent coming through, so Levi would be smart to take up a generous offer from another club if such an offer exists.

Whilst I agree about the young talent we have coming through. If one thing this year has taught us, especially in the last 7 weeks. Is we need more mature heads with on-field leadership, not less. Levi needs a 2 year contract, even if he starts to lose his spot next year and the following.

Scary isn't it. And unfortunately at this point in our development we need reliable players. Cunningham is another that if he keeps getting injured, do we decide to split the sheets and let him go. Along with Williamson and Doc (only if he redoes his knee).

Different times BS.....there was no free agency back then. It was trade or Pre-season draft and as CK rightly pointed out Richmond were in the box seat.

Phillips was good on the weekend and with TDK in development i think we are ok with the ruck, which if you'd asked me that last week I'd have probably felt differently about.

Similarly with Setterfield having a breakout g a me on the weekend and Diesel a fan of Stocker I'm starting to think spending big on a proven mid maybe isnt a priorirty , instead Small Forward is our most pressing need. Give me Papley and if we can avoid losing pick 11 or whatever is our first pick then we have done well.

Agree... also, I'm not certain that we can. We've got one genuine $1m unicorn in Cripps, plus a handful of above average 184cm 82kg types that will average $400k+ on their next deals.

A top of the line stoppages and contested ball coach might make a midfielder out of Kennedy again and continue Setterfield's growth, then hopefully find another couple of similar size to keep the listed reserves competitive. If we can tick those two boxes AND win the lottery with Docherty and Williamson returning, then 17 will be within reach.

It’s all about the front loaded contract. We will have plenty of room for the next couple of years from paying unders the past few. By the time our kids are demanding big $$$ our recruit will be largely paid off
