It should have been an auxiliary verb instead of a modal verb.

Soss last 2 drafts have been very poor

Some really stupid trades
Particularly last year
Was in panic mode
The quick fix was back and it’s set us back a couple
of years and Bolton is the scapegoat

The board never @#$%&! learns

If you're still going on about Stocker, it's too soon.
OK, we will probably finish 18th. W lose pick one. If we had have traded it for Stocker without any comeback, it is looking pretty 'stupid' to use your words.
However as it stands, we look to have traded #1 for Stocker and pick 9-11.
Stocker looks the goods. Let's say he would have gone at 9 anyway.
We have traded #1 for two picks around #10. Unless we (SOS and his team) cock up the Adelaide pick, I'd say we've done OK.
Finally, Adelaide is playing flukey footy at the momet. I havn't looked at their run home BUT they might yet finish 8-12. What if they finish 12 Possible) and we finish 16-17 (unlikely).
We get Stocker and pick 7-11.
I wouldn't b surprised if we didn't get a PP this year. They can't just keep pretending we are going OK.

We obtained pick 13 from Sydney
We could have used that pick to get Stocker and been more patient after the year we had in 2018
Also the later picks are a worry as well
O’Dwyer and Silvangib have shown nothing
You should show something at VFL level in your first year
And the new coach has them on the list next year
We could have used one of these 2 picks to get an experienced head like McVeigh
Instead we were more obsessed in flying Shiel around in a private jet
He was never coming to us
We went the early crow in trading picks and going after a big fish eat way too early
Instead we get Fasolo

Whether it was Silvagni alone or pressure from the board to do these trades
the fact is the club got ahead of itself and went the quick fix yet again

The trade that doesn’t look good is the Tuohy trade
Apparently the offer the Blues gave him was embarrassing
So off he goes to Geelong when his experience would have been invaluable
Smedts lasted one year
Pickett has done virtually nothing
Marchbank is just ok
That trade already looks like another one we have stuffed up

Remember Silvagni said that we would start to trade out picks for bigger bodies after 66 games
Well imo we should have revised that strategy after the year we had in 2018

No player drafted in 60's+ has played in afl they are always speculative picks

We didn't draft any decent mature players as we are freeing up space in the cap so that we can lock in our quality kids for some time and leave enough cash to lure a FA

You can’t count Hird, he was warehoused, but Aaron Hamill wasn’t to bad and around 60+.

Doesn’t really make sense going project player long shots when half our list is injury prone.

Yes but as was said.

No player drafted last year over 60 had played this year.

So .....

We picked long shots?

Or everyone over 60 was average and every club had to reach?

Yeah nah yeah...Only Carlton sucks

FWIW Tom Morris says SOS will leave Carlton at the end of the year.

Yes, I was watching On the Couch.
Interesting, mentioned this may have been the reason he met up with Lyon.

Tom Morris doesn’t have a great strike rate, but this time I’m hoping he’s right.

We have been within reach of about four other games this season.
I we had won them, BB would still be there and SOS would be wonderful.
Nobody gets everything right.
The press is determined to shake the Stocker trade tree until something falls out. They are convinced we somehow traded Stocker for pick one as a straight swap.
Well I don't think we will finish last if we can maintain the rage and Adelaide has fellen in twice in recent weeks.
With a bit of luck and a few dicey umpiring decisions that cost us, we might easily have been sitting in 10-12 position on the ladder and Adelaide too.
Personally, I think SOS has done pretty well to trade us back into the draft over the past few years. Some hits and some misses. That's going to happen in every team.

The Marchbank Tuohy trade doesn’t look too good now with Pickett leaving
Smedts gone
Pickett gone
Went down in the draft order
Losing a player of Tuohy’s experience in defence
Despite all the injuries it was clear given his lack condition when
he came back from the wrist injury that He just wasn’t committed

We’ve been reamed on all trades with GWS - despite the ways the resident sugar coaters have wanted to spin it.

i agree bs
be nice if people sat back and looked at the talent he has put on the list in his short time in the job and compare that back to what was drafted/recruited the 5 or 6 years prior to him arriving..

Disagree. Marchbank and Plowman are fine. Setterfield will make it. Just disappointed in Kennedy and hope he can turn it around.

The rest were hit and hope for pocket change.

You can kept grinding the axe but SOS’s failures are with getting guys like Smith, Saad or the like across, getting a FA and the rookie draft.

He has nevertheless put together a group, including the hardest part talls, that has enough talent to go all the way. Gaps to fill but the core is very much there.

Ready made Ruck
Small forwards
Another premium mid

And the list is nearly there.

Of course, this is all very much opinion on both sides.

Tuohy was one foot out the door, we did what we could. Forgetting the speculative steak knives, effectively we traded an international rookie we developed into one of our best back 6 and which cost us nothing (and at 29 probably only has a couple of years of footy left) for a 22 year old former Pick 6 in Marchbank that will now be in our best back 6, fits the age profile and has a lot of years left in him. I'll take that.

-We got reamed with Jaksch however SOS was working with GWS then.
-Marchbank trade good for us - don't care about losing Tuohy.
-Pick #30 for Plowman and Phillips worthwhile.
-Setterfield will be a player and I'm happy that his body appears to be holding up OK.
-I agree Kennedy trade isn't looking good however we only gave up pick #28.
