The Blues President Mark Loguidice is believed to have defended his List Manager Stephen Silvagni and told Blues Chief Executive Cain Liddle, if SOS goes, you'll have to sack me first in a strong show of faith

Liddle can sack SOS, but Liddle can't remove LoGiudice on his own. I think he'd need a circular resolution held (doesn't need a board meeting) where the other board members sign off on it. In other words - highly unlikely.

Exciting day ahead.

Cripps vs Bontempelli

If only 24 yo Bont was traded to Carlton ...

If only 25 yo Grundy was traded to Carlton ...

Those 2 big trade plays by Carlton would give us a Royal Flush of talent.

Thereafter, all we would need to recruit is a specialist small goal kicker, like a Betts.

We are not that far off.

The engine room:

Rucks

Grundy with Kreuzer as back up and McKay providing the 5 minute chop out every quarter.

A midfield group

Big bodied mids like .......... Cripps, Bontempelli, Setterfield
Inside Outside mids like..... Walsh, Dow, Stocker, Cuningham
Tricky mids like .................SPS, Fisher,
Outside speed....................OBrien, Cottrell

Murphy Ed Simmo and Thomas are at the end of their careers and will free up 4 spots plus cap space
I dont see Kennedy, Lang, Garlett, Polson as the future and they will be replaced by 4 better mids to improve depth

Jury is out for Gibbons, DeLuca and Owies

Add Brodie from GWS which is doing the rounds and there's another tough inside bull.

$1M for Bont.....2019 1st round pick and 2nd round pick, plus player ... SPS or OBrien or Plowman
$1M for Grundy...2020 1st round pick and 2019 2nd rounder, plus player ... Fisher or Dow or Williamson

Brodie is coming ... for a 3rd rounder, and some cap relief for GWS

Fingers crossed.

Point is, we need an experienced big bodied mid with class like Bont, also need a dominant ruckman who accumulates possessions too, and the right age btacket.

Brodie is one of 2 targets likely to come to us for $ and opportunity...just the type of mid we need next to Crippa after Kennedy bust.

...small forward might be Cuningham and Deluca... we will know more about them in the next 10 games.

We already have a footy smart big-bodied mid who just got BOG in the VFL and is clearly modelling himself on the skipper.

He can model himself on him Rexy but he's miles away. Cripps is a ball winner. Like a commentator said once, he can smell the ball from the factory. Jack doesn't have that. He's a smart forward but he struggles to read it in the stoppages.
Thats why his tackle stats are so high. He's reactive whilst natural ball winners are reading the ball off the ruckmans palm, he's trailing them in. I still have hopes he'll make a very good inside mid but he's still well off it.

Did I type that?

Just sayin' .... something is brewing at Carlton.
I feel the kids have been allowed to show their natural instincts.

We aren't that far off, just 2-3 good players.
McKay didn't seem engaged on the weekend and if he and Gov were, then who knows what happens next.
It will be better than now.

And I believe the vibe of Carlton as a destination club improved post Bolton.

Roosy OTC expects Carlton to be 6 and 6 at this time in 2020.
The energy the supporter base....

If we an afford to trade class players of the type we have a lot of, then we can trade up.
We have currency, let alone 1st Rnd picks in 2019 and 2020 on the table, plus 2nd and 3rd rounders.

If SOS doesn't put the cream on the cake at the end of this year, I will not be happy.

Good point BV.
Reactive and I think he's also creative, hence more a forward.

I'd love to see Jack and Kennedy work out; even just one of them.
